Multi-tasking baking

Sixty days use. We had but one issue after install. The door switch for oven lamp wasn't closing all the way. Couldn't turn off oven lamp. Couldn't pre-heat the oven. Detaching and reinstalling the front door of the oven has made the door switch fully operational.
This oven upgraded our kitchen from a 24" GE wall oven that was at least 20 years old. The larger size does take a minute longer to pre-heat than the old oven. But once the oven begins a meal then some of the extra features make this a very enjoyable appliance. Multi-rack Convection mode lets you finish the main dish while you bake rolls or biscuits on an upper rack. The Crisper Convection Broil nicely finishes a cooking dish.
Overall the oven maintains its internal temperature very well. This is the 'Cafe' series and one can cook right up to an overdone dish like the hot ovens do at a restaurant. One has to lower the suggested temperature of recipes by about five to ten degrees to learn about over cooking.
I don't use the GE smart phone app that turns on the oven from the supermarket check-out line. Too many actions can kick the oven off-line including someone curious and opening the front door of the oven. Steam clean doesn't seem to do anything and on the other hand, Self-clean cycle does work. The Probe has not been convenient or a confidence-builder for doneness.

Great Ovens

I bought two of these and they are installed under the counter and under a Cafe cooktop. Beautiful ovens that do a great job at pretty much everything they are supposed to do. But I have a couple of suggestions: Make the control panel more highly visible either with the use of backlighting or just higher contrast labels. Maybe backlighting that would come on for 30 or 60 seconds whenever you touch any button. Secondly, simplify the way the racks slide in and out of the oven. Finally, enable the use of the oven light while using the 'Proof' mode so you can check on the rising bread without opening the oven door. But overall great ovens and I highly recommend.

Poor design

We had a profile slide in gas range/oven and it is wonderful so when we had to replace our 20 year old GE wall oven we ordered the equivalent matching wall oven. Unbeknownst to us they have redesigned the way the racks sit in the oven. Instead of the molded rack mounts they have a screw in piece made of stainless steel. Sounds like a good idea, but to make the racks slide you have to apply a fluid lubricant or they don't slide at all. We have owned the unit for a month and have to reapply the lubricant 3 time already. This is a really poor design and I don't recommend this wall oven.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Beautiful appearance overall a solid oven...

I bought an entire kitchen of appliances all GE Cafe series...so far so good. I like it, lower fascia cover is smaller than before leaving some wood exposed, but otherwise a good fit. I only have 1 complaint otherwise it would have been a 5 star rating. I wish the controls were back-lit as printing is small and hard to see if lighting is not bright in the kitchen. I tend to use only the under counter lighting so it makes it difficult to find the controls. Otherwise a nice addition to our kitchen.

Cook like a Pro

I'm thrilled with the design and function of this oven, everything from visually pleasing to actual performance. My food and baking come out evenly cooked and browned with the multiple heating elements and convection features. The oven door is large and with the oven light on helps me see my food clearly. The buttons to control the oven are easy to use and the signals have a nice tone to them. I really didn't think that an oven could make such a difference, I wish only I had purchased a GE sooner!

love the auto glide for one rack. it really helps to stabilize the rack and to easily take stuff out of the oven. I wish all racks were on a glide but that wouldnt be easy.

My oven is at a new level!

I recently had this oven installed and was impressed from the start. Stream cleaning - great feature for small spills. Lighted display. And it cooks great. The functions on this oven will not only give you the end results in your food but make your life easier in the process with the options. I didn't think I could get excited about an oven - well, it happened - this oven is great.
