The watch is wonderful. I love the tracking of my number of steps and number of floors walked. It modivates me to take the stairs more than the elevator just to reach my daily goals. The customization of watch faces is also great. I can have a new watch practically every day!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently purchased the Samsung s3 Frontier and its definitely the best purchase for a smartwatch I ever did. The classy sleek design and rugged beating it can take is well worth the money! if i could give it 10 more stars I would!
I've been more active than I have in a year with the nudges from SHealth. I'm really getting into the swing of Samsung Pay through my watch. I even forgot my wallet on a quick trip to the store, but didn't have go home empty handed! Weather at my fingertips, and e-mail and text pop-ups. And even taking calls through my watch.
My wife gave me an excellent Christmas present with this watch!
Overall, I love this watch. As a matter of fact, with the exception of one thing, it's the best watch I've owned. But it is missing the standalone features like the S2 had where you can add a phone number to it! If I had known this prior, I would probably not have bought it and held out for the next. I assumed it would have it since the Gear S2 did. Big let down!
SAmsung has done it again with another over the top smartwatch. The Frontier comes with an altimeter and barometer how cool is that.. They improved the band with hinged joints. Now the watch will lay flat when placed on a table. Better battery life and improved speaker phone, how can you go wrong.Samsung Pay is another new feature, forgot your phone in the car no problem, Samsung pay is now on your wrist. And for those who have not yet found Samsung phones, the watch is compatible with more phones other then Samsung. So do yourself a favor get out and get the Gear S3 today.
What can I say, it looks good (not a little square thing like an old calculator watch from the 80s), the performance is top notch and it is actually useful. Samsung pay is awesome and it works like it should pretty much every time. So far I have had this for a few months and the performance has been flawless except for one reboot needed after a freeze. The main complaints I read before purchasing was the lack of apps. True there aren't a lot of them but the ones that there are and I have downloaded work pretty well. I would rather have few working apps then than ten times as many and most of them suck. Really, how many calculator apps do you need? The other complaint I remember reading about was that you had to enter a password every time you put it on. I guess this could be an issue for some but spending 10 seconds putting in a 4 digit password once a day (I wear my watch all day) just isn't an issue. All said this is a great watch and I don't regret the purchase at all. If I had to say anything negative it would be that it a little on the pricy side (although in line with other flagship smart watches) and there aren't as many apps as with the competitors.
Pros: Durable, Built-in speakers, looks like a real quality watch, is useful in everyday life, well built
Cons: a little expensive, not as many apps as the competitors
