Works fine as it is supposed to. I just got this watch 2 days back and still trying out all the features. Would love if the bands are more reasonable priced. Since I have been following Android Google Play for a long time I am using that as a comparison point for the Samsung Galaxy apps ecosystem. I wish it to be more user attractive.
I am assuming the battery is not going to work more than 2 3/4 days if you are heavy user of the watch. Will update my review if it does.
Having upgraded from the Gear S2 (4Glte) to the Gear S3 Frontier, I was blown away at how much improvement and advancement was added to an already amazing product. The incredible water resistance, Samsung Pay (both NFC and MST), advanced GPS, the new text input format where you just draw the character you need on the screen, and major improvements the S Voice AI Assistant are all very incredible improvements! More apps are available every day, and I can't live without this device! The battery life is unbelievable as well. I can even order an Uber from start to finish without having to touch my phone at all!!
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight, water resistant, pay from device, long battery life
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best smartwatch on the market - needs some software tweaks to be perfect

I've owned and used several Android Wear devices including the Huawei watch, and the Moto 360 (2015), along with the Apple Watch. Of all these, the S3 Frontier is by far my favorite. It is extremely feature rich, easily matching the Apple Watch, but much easier to use and navigate than the Apple watch. The health and fitness features are excellent, the screen is gorgeous, and the available watch faces makes this look like a rugged normal men's watch. It has rich interactions with most apps on Android that I use including Nine Folders email and many other non-Samsung apps.
The only flaw is that it's heart rate sensor and security pin are both too sensitive. To make these work properly, you have to have the watch band on very tightly. This makes it difficult for these features to work well. I'm sure Samsung has a fix in the works.
I've had a Gear S2 for a year now, and just upgraded to the new S3 model. The difference between them is night and day!
The S3 features a speaker, LTE, and a much larger screen. Combined, these hardware features have changed the way I view, and use, a smartwatch entirely.
On a day to day basis, I have a lot of things to carry. Keychains, tools, documents, accessories. Usually, it means I've forgotten something by the time I get out of the door in the morning. Regrettably, it's been a phone on a number of occasions. Ugh, right? Fortunately, it's not nearly as big of a deal anymore, because my LTE capable Samsung Gear S3 has my back! Or, well, my wrist, at any rate! My phone might be at home on top of the dresser, but I can still get those important phone calls and emails just fine, without it.
The speaker is great. Calls come in crisp and clear. The microphone is just as good, with no one having any trouble hearing me, even when the Gear S3 is a foot away from my face!
The display is bright and the colors are vibrant. Whether in a dark room or out in the sun on a clear day, it's easy to read. The rotating bezel makes a return, which works wonders for controlling the Tizen-based interface, even with gloves on.
One of the biggest letdowns of the Gear S2 was its custom-designed watchbands. The Gear S3 avoids that problem by using more a commonly available band type, which while not a big thing to me personally, is sure to make others smile.
Oh, and one thing I never see mentioned in any reviews: The Samsung Gear S3 has some really well designed Accessibility features for the visually impaired! I was very impressed with how thought out it is. You can, for example, change the display contrast or even enable a screen reader on the watch face. Well done!
This is getting long, so I'll cut it short here: The Samsung Gear S3 is a great piece of hardware and I personally find it worth every dollar. The larger screen, speaker, and LTE capability means that I often use it as a standalone device, confident that I can leave my cellular phone behind.
There is one aspect of it that, while it's not a make or break issue for me, I wish could be different. S Health. Samsung's custom fitness monitoring application suite. This isn't a feature I use, in any form, nor will it be a feature I have any intention of using. While you can turn off the automatic heart rate monitor, I do wish you could turn off this application altogether. Or uninstall it. Being something I won't use for any reason, I feel it's an unnecessary drain on the battery
That's not to say that the battery is poor - it's certainly not, as I can easily get two and a half days out of it. But I would feel more comfortable turning on other features of the smartwatch, such as the Always On Display, were I able to shut off background apps like S Health.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Built-in speakers
I would recommend this to a friend!

I am enjoying this watch over my Gear S2 in so many ways. The larger face is great, so much easier to read the date when glancing down at it. The always on mode is also much better, it now actually is always on. The simulated glass reflection when I move my wrist is genius. The watch itself is well built and absolutely gorgeous which has turned some heads in the short time I've owned it. The operating system is clean, fast and fluid. The bezel, like the one on the S2 is awesome for getting around the menus. The ability to assign a double press home button to to a function is very convenient and the SOS function is a great feature I hope to never use. Samsung Pay is the greatest tap and pay invention since bacon. It has worked at every store I've been to with has a card reader.
The cons: Not all my bank cards are supported by Samsung Pay and haven't been since I purchased the S2. It didn't stop me from getting the S3 though. It is worth the wait. The app store for the Gear S3 is lacking in apps but getting better. I dumped Spotify for Amazon Music a month or so ago but I'll go back to Spotify when the app is available for the S3. I hate the phone manager app for the Gear S2/S3. It is difficult to navigate and lacking in many features but usable. The bezel on the Gear S3 though as great as it is in function, makes the watch seem a bit cheap. When I tap on it with my finger it sounds loose and cheap. I just checked my S2 and it does the same thing but I never noticed it before on the S2. Perhaps it is because the S3 is larger and amplifies it. Nonetheless, it is not cheap and works flawless.
Its simple easy and very helpful. Dont need to access my phone for the little things anymore and is very descreet. Also helped me just the other day when i was working i left my phone in the truck on the charger so i couldnt use it to call for help, but since i had my watch and i was in range i was able to call someone to let me out of the building i was locked in so i was very happy with knowing i have it. The only thing is getting use to the size and weight of it. Dont get me wrong it aint as bad as some watches you see but differet from a simple watch you would normally wear but when you get use to it its like a regular watch. Also fun thing i didnt know but you can download games and play them on the watch very limited selection but nice feature. Its not required but you can change bands which personalize your watch but may also prevent a rash or chafing like i got from the band supplied.
Pros: Durable, Built-in speakers, downloadable games
Cons: Too big, chafing from watch strap, expensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

My first watch had to be swapped out because it was unable to pair up with my smartphone. The new one works great and has all the features that I need.
I definitely recommend this product for the price. I love all the features and I love how you can change the straps. I just ordered 3 crocodile straps can't wait to receive them
