Softens the blow from the Note 7

I absolutely love this watch! I must admit I miss the texting keyboard from the Gear S and I will ALWAYS miss the camera from the original Gear. With that said, this watch is magnificent. It takes a minute to navigate through the screens, but once you've got it, you've got it. Using Samsung Pay on the watch is hassle free and so convenient! No complaints from me.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable, Built-in speakers, samsung pay
Cons: heavier than previous models, no keyboard

Amazing Smartwatch

Samsung did an amazing job with the Gear S3 Frontier. I waited for this watch to launch, watching YouTube videos and reading tech blogs and finally got mine on launch day.
The Gear S3 is an amazing smartwatch, it far exceeded my expectations of it and it's so much better than the Gear S2.
The design is simply beautiful, I really like the the minute markings on the edge of the rotating bezel--it's one of the best features.
The larger display looks great, is noticeably better than the Gear S2. The size of the S3 Frontier looks big but on the wrist is really not big at all--and I have very small wrists for a man.
The UI has a gorgeous makeover, it's modern, colorful and looks much better than the Gear S2. The UI is so nice, I hope Samsung doesn't change it!! It's great just the way it is but if they do change it, please only make it better.
The battery is a beast!! I doubted Samsung's claims of 4 day battery but it gets 4 days!!! Obviously if you max it out you'll get less but I use mine all day at work and still only use about 20% battery after about 10 hours.
I'm glad Samsung now uses standard watch bands!! I have some really nice leather bands but look forward to the official ones Samsung will make available later.
The Altimeter is very useful, I really really like the stairs counter, I didn't realize how much I go up and down stairs at work.
This watch seems to be smarter than the Gear S2, Samsung put a lot of effort into making this the best smart watch.
The only smartwatch better than the Samsung Gear S3 Frontier is the Samsung Gear S4.

- Bluetooth connection to smartwatch occasionally drop.
- Download apps to it via smart phone is slow and frequently unable to install the apps.
- Only allow to remote to it via Bluetooth and wifi not available.
- less apps if compare to smartsphone apps.
- The samsung health and face watch use a lot of battery.

The rotating bezel adds a whole other aspect to smart watches. The best part is the gear app store and how you can play interactive games to past the time. Samsung works wonders. This isn't just a smart watch it's much more. Thank you samsung

Excellent and convenient

I traded in my Gear S2 on T-Mobile to upgrade to the Gear S3. I was really excited about the Samsung pay feature on the gear S3 and being able to use it as a standalone device. I work out alot and I no longer have to carry no more cash or debit cards along with me because Samsung Pay is accepted pretty much everywhere. The screen is excellent and the new and improved casing along with the bezel is excellent. This one looks more like a watch but alot more sophisticated. Great investment for those that will use it.

Cons: would like to be able to swim with device

I've been a Samsung consumer for a long time. I've also owned all 3 samsung gear devices and each one is better than the next. Love the look, Samsung pay works great.
