One would assume that a Samsung watch would be compatible with any Samsung smart phone. Was very disappointed to realize it would not work with my
Samsung J7 Sky Pro phone.

I got this last year and with the last update this stop tracking steps and heartrate.

Love this watch. Looks and feels great like a regular watch not a smart watch but it is and has all the top amazing features for changing watch faces, heart rate monitor,reminders, music, and man the Samsung pay is SWEET too!! Wish I would have got the att one on my plan to be completely independent and not require bt to text and call. But that's on me. Props Samsung love the New Gear 3 and can't wait for the new Note 8!!! Still have the Note 3 which is amazing but could use and upgrade. Any help Samsung??

NOT for non Samsung phones!!!

This rating is only when paired with a different brand smartphone than a Samsung. I purchased an S3 Frontier Bluetooth for my son for Christmas because his "dumb" watch had broken. Before giving it to him I paired it with my Samsung Galaxy S7 and was so impressed I purchased an S3 Classic for myself (which I love). My son has a different brand Android phone and we have found the messaging apps and email do not work nearly as well and even require 3rd party apps to get certain functionality which is still so limited as to be unacceptable. I am looking to replace his Frontier with either a different OS smartwatch. Messaging is so important that I believe Samsung should make it much clearer that only Samsung phones will offer full functionality. The phone is wonderful when paired with my Samsung but suffers when paired with my son's droid.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best smart watch I have ever had!

I have been using this watch for a little bit longer than a year. I really like it and is the best one I have ever used. Integration with my Galaxy S and Note line of phones has been seamless and it just works all the time. The single negative thing about it is the OS, because Tizen is not too popular and you cannot find a good variety of apps to complement it. Other than that, solid product!

Worst piece of gear from Samsung I have ever bough

I bought this watch yesterday, I am returning it in less than 24 hours after getting it. I have gone through the set up of this watch over 12 times, every time I try to connect to the phone it resets the watch. The app on the phone detects the watch but as soon as it says continue on watch the OS just craps out. Do not bother purchasing this thing, try getting something with less bloatware as well. Samsung has dropped in quality over the years and this is the reason why I no longer buy any of their products. Again, I was not able to connect the watch to my phone once... As a software developer, this is one of the most poorly designed OS' out there...

Provides everything i need at a glance from my phone. From Fitness tracker to sleep and virtually everything in between, even the fast charging does not keep the watch off my wrist for long periods of time. Improvement from original S.
