I'm sure there are many features that still need to happen. I'm sure there are developments yet to be made. But aside from obvious pie in the sky pure sci-fi lunacy like motion capture for VR or augmented reality applications, I can't think of anything that's even remotely attainable. In the realms of what is logistically feasible, this is the best watch you're going to find today.
I realized that this watch was really as good as it was after the honeymoon period ended.
After I stopped being dazzled, what struck me the most was the COMFORT of it, not just in the tactile sense, but *conceptually*. Let me see if I can explain...
Back when I was still using the Gear S1, I came to realize it was a chore. It was a chore accommodating its quirks, it was a chore making sure it was charged, it was a chore trying to navigate its functions and features, it was a chore making sure it had access to my phone's resources, it was a chore managing notifications... It was ESPECIALLY a chore making sure it was charged because the adapter's clasps kept SNAPPING, connectivity for the charger was spotty, I had to use rubber bands or those extra-thick document clips to hold it on.
What makes the Gear S3 beautiful is that I DON'T notice it. I don't notice it until I WANT to. And then it's a joy. That is to say, there is no "friction" in its usage. It comes naturally, and Just. Fits. Every time I want to do something with it, it's responsive, intuitive, trivially easy. If I had to go without it, I'd feel a distinct lack in my life. It's integrated itself seamlessly into my routine to become an extension of my experience.
The icing on this cake, and the cherry on top, is its interface with the rotating dial. Do you even KNOW how much I've longed for this to be a function of a watch? I remember those cheap digital casio watches that had a fake bezel around the face that was just a static piece with compass marks on it for no discernible reason. I always used to think, this should DO something. I should be able to turn it, to interact with the watch. But I never could... until THIS watch. I can never properly put into words just how DEEPLY SATISFYING it is to turn that bezel and feel it glide smoothly, click distinctly... the way Samsung's engineers integrated it into setting times for timers and alarms, and either dismissing or snoozing, switching between apps and notifications, scrolling... You will fall in love with this watch on first touch, It's that good.
Alright, maybe there IS one thing I'd like to see more of: app support. I would like to see more utilities. I feel like the potential of this device is untapped. But there are far worse problems one could have than a wealthy abundance of growing room! I can't help but feel like this device has a bright future.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, simple usability, "interface feel" extremely satisfying, the freaking watch dial rotates how cool is that.
Cons: not enough apps, so much utility potential as yet untapped...

I was very wary about purchasing this watch from the Sprint agent, but he convinced me this was a must have. I totally agree. I feel necked when I do not have it on. And it keeps me moving. Great health benefit.
Excellent buy.

Pros: - This watch is a very good looking one. - Works seamlessly with iPhone. - You can track your run or jogging only with the watch on. No phone needed. It will store data locally and sync while connected. - On average battery life is 2 days. - Music can be controlled from watch. - There are many watch faces. Some of them even comes with moon phase, which I love. - Very good sleep tracker and heart rate monitor.
Above were my concerns before buying this watch. It fulfils all of the above needs.
Cons: - Altitude meter is not close to perfect. - Hard to find quality free apps and watch faces.
Have had for a few weeks now. The ultimate smart watch. Samsung Pay works everywhere using NFC or MST. Terrific auto tracking of walking and biking, my two favorite exercises. Battery lasts over 2 days wearing it constantly, and charges fast. The display is large and easy to read. Performance is liquid fast from app to app. Very tough, can be washed under water. Really glad I got this watch. Can't wait to pair up with a Note 9 which I am saving up for.
