This is a great smartwatch. I can get 3 days of battery life using auto-wakeup with the screen turned off, and 2 days with the always-on screen active. Samsung Pay with NFC/MST works great and generates a lot of comments. The fitness and sleep tracking work very well, and the microphone/speaker are better than many bluetooth headsets. Other people could not tell I was speaking through the watch and not on the phone.
There are a large number of watch faces and a decent number of included apps. It would be nice if there were more high end apps in the store, but there are only certain types of apps that are useful for a watch anyway.
Overall, this is about the best smartwatch out there, and is highly recommended.
I have been waiting a couple years for someone to get it right and Samsung did with the Gear S3. Looks like a watch, feels like a watch and oh baby does it function like one and then some.
I will update this as my time with the watch goes on.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight, Built-in speakers, looks like a watch
I would recommend this to a friend!

This is the best smartwatch on the market in 2016

I can say that I've owned several smartwatches (all Samsung) and this one is the BEST one so far. I've had the original Gear, the Gear 2 (still have it), the Gear S (still have it) and now this one and it rarely leaves my wrist. It's got all of the features a person could honestly want with a wearable, but also excellent battery life.
The design is spot on and with so many competitors out there, it's easy to see how there might be confusion on what the best wearable is, but I can honestly say that if you're looking for a device that can both be an accessory to your smartphone & be it's own STANDALONE device, then this is the one for you. The apps are solid and growing and you can't say there's a lack of innovation or customization. And it even tells time...:-)
This watch is a homerun and I think it is the best device on the market today (12/6/2016) and it should be one of (if not THE) top device in 2017.
The new Gear S3 Frontier takes the smart watch category to the next level. I had an early version of the Samsung Gear Live (android OS) and the Gear S3 (tizen OS) combines the elegance of a watch design with the usability of a connected wearable. The always-on-display is amazing, most people who see the watch don't realize that it is a smart watch. The bezel UI makes the watch much more usable when sitting in meetings and having to check on messages and alerts. Easily 2 full days on a charge allowing me to track my sleep. S-health integration is flawless. S-Voice is not as well trained as "Ok Google" speech recognition. Would love to see some more stand-alone apps so I can leave my phone at home when exercising/horse back riding. What happened to Spotify? Would live to see Office 365/Outlook native app.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable, Lightweight, Built-in speakers, not as geeky as apple and older gear live
Cons: missing stand-alone apps for lte frontier
I would recommend this to a friend!

My Gear Frontier is everything I hoped it would be. With NumberSync and LTE I send and receive calls without my phone - the speaker and microphone are very clear. Paying with Samsung Pay couldn't be easier, and is one of my favorite features of the watch. Another favorite is the S Health app, which automatically tracks my steps and stair climbing. I also really enjoy the option to change my watch faces on the fly, including being able to use my own pictures. Finally, it's easy to change out the watch band since it uses a standard 22mm band (I'm wearing a light blue band at the moment).
Pros: Bright display, Built-in speakers

Great Smart Watch

With the 4G LTE capability and samsung pay, I dont have to carry my phone, pager, or wallet around with me to most places. This watch truly gives me the freedom to just go for a walk, run, the store, and to work without bringing anything else with me. The display is crisp and the software is overall easy to use.
The 4G does tend to drain the battery, and will last a day to day and a half if put on 4G alone. At times the voice command does not always do what you ask. Often times I have to set alarms and timers for experiments at work, and the voice command does not always set them, even when the are confirmed by the voice command.
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, Durable
Cons: battery life

The performance is fairly smooth, every once and a while it gets stuck in sleep mode and the auto on doesn't work. I pairs great with my non Samsung phone. I don't have any loss of features. The Bluetooth is pretty awesome the distance is amazing, along with seamless connecting and disconnecting. I can be anywhere in my apartment away from my phone and it keeps connection and runs smooth like I'm standing next to my phone. Another aspect that I think is great is the durability. I have clunked it pretty good on metal edges of stuff at work and not a scratch on it. Call quality is better then I thought it would be. I figured it would be a feature I wouldn't use, but at home it use it all the time. it's super handy and no one seems to know the difference between me talking on the watch or on my phone. On average I have been getting 3 days 6 hours on a charge with many of the features active. It's nice not having to charge it everyday.
This is by far the best smartwatch I have owned. It looks amazing and very smooth functioning. It's great to be able to sync with my phone so I can leave it behind when I run
