This is my first smartwatch so I have thing to compare this to. The Frontier is huge first but I'm used to it now. Can't be worn to the office as it doesn't fit discreetly under my cuff. The stock rubber band is also thick and makes it difficult to put on and take off the watch. Other than those 2 immediate cons the other cons are minor. The battery requires charging almost every day. I find that if its paired up with a phone using the phone's GPS and wifi it doesn't hit the battery as hard than using the watch's own connections. The watch also needs to be rebooted from time to time which is not that big of a deal because it only takes about a minute. The reboot will fix connection issues that happens a lot.
I started with the cons to warn people not to expect a perfect device, far from it. But it does have pros. I love the bezel which makes navigation so much easier than screen taps or physical buttons. The screen display is big enough to see the necessary data on the apps. If you want anything more you should go back to your phone. The watch faces are just awesome, you can pick from just about any design you can think of but start with the stock ones they're pretty nice already.
I have this watch paired to my iphone and it works great but I understand that if I had a Samsung phone many other feature become available. That will be something consider when I need to replace my phone. For the time being I'll stick with my iphone.
I mainly got this for use as a golf GPS. I use the SmartCaddie app which works as good as a phone app. Its on my wrist and I don't have to lug the phone in my pocket anymore. I was hoping to try the myRoundPro but sadly found out that it only works on the S3 when paired with a Samsung device. The SmartCaddie app worked fine on the watch and used maybe 35-40% of battery on a 5.5hr round.
The Samsung Health app is great but is always on...I will probably want to find a way to shut it down if possible because I want to save as much battery as I can. I don't need to know every health issue I have LOL.
I would recommend this if you want a decent smartwatch. I don't know much about the apple watch but for the money the Gear S3 is a good value.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Built-in speakers
Cons: Too big
I would recommend this to a friend!

Iv had the gear s3 frontier for about a month and im SHOCKED how short the battery life is. It also overheats if its worn a full day at work outdoors. (similiar conditions to a workout. It even tracks my day like a workout) but unlike a workout, it overheats
Cons: very few apps all of which are expensive., battery life is 1/3 of what's advertised at best, no camera, gets hot
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Best Smart Watch

This watch is simply the best compared to all the smartwatches out there. I tried a few of them before finally settling on this and I must say I have no regret choosing this Samsung Watch. The build is the best quality one can get for the watch and so far it has not disappointed me. The S Health works perfect, I was amazed when it started recording my Bike ride. I highly recommend this watch for anyone on the market for a great workable smartwatch.
My watch has corrosion in the back case screws, although it has never touched the water at all
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Did not meet expectations, Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This watch would be great but it suffers from 1 fatal software flaw: when operating in an area with weak 4g service, the battery drains in a couple of hours completely. If they ever bother to fix this glaring weakness, everything else is great.
I would recommend this to a friend!
