There are some native things I wish this device interfaced better with like Maps or Gmail but it's a solid product that gets to the business of that I needed it to do. Not miss notifications and interact with them with out always needing open my phone. As a musician and teacher this was vital. I wish I new how to make the voice operated search work tho.
Cons: bixby doesn't work on watch., wish samsung developed apps for it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Works Great with my Moto Z2 Play

When I decided to move to Motorola phones from the Galaxy S5, I hated the idea of losing the Samsung Health app which I find excellent to track all the things that I need to track.
When I realized it was time to get a more modern smartwatch, I did my research and discovered that the Samsung watches would automate many of the things I had been entering manually into S-Health. But I worried that the Z2 Play wasn't on the Samsung list of supported watches; would it work even if it otherwise met all the tech requirements? I agonized over this.
I ordered the watch, half expecting to have to return it; But I was delighted to discover that the watch was EASY to pair with my phone, and did all the things I needed/expected it to do.
It's well built and well designed. I feel it is very rugged. Many of the reviews I read said it was heavy, but I don't think it is. It IS heavier than most mechanical watches but no smartwatch is that light.
The only real negative I have is that I can't really figure out a way to control Pandora streaming service through the phone. When I'm at the gym, I have to unpair the watch from my phone and pair the BT Headphones to the phone. Fortunately, the watch works just fine in a disconnected manner, and when I do reconnect the phone to the watch, the S-Health data auto syncs to the android phone version of S-Health. Works good, but I DO wish the watch had the same level of 3rd party music software control that an Android watch has.
Battery life has been excellent. It's been a day and a half since I last charged the battery and I am only at 50% charge. That includes using the phone for 2 hours at the gym! I suspect If I could have connected the headphones to the watch via bluetooth, the battery would be a bit more drained than it is. But I've had another watch that required charging twice a day with very minor use!
I think a Samsung Phone user would consider the S3 the best phone value in the market. But Non Samsung phone users need to remember not ALL functionality will be available to them. It is still a good value, but evaluate your needs before you decide on which phone to buy. Each person will value different things.
For me, I'm VERY satisfied because it lets me use Samsung Health to its full potential. But a person interested in other functionality might not be as happy.
I like it, and for a more than casual fitness person, but not all THAT intense when it comes to fitness, it is pretty close to Ideal.
Cons: a bit expensive for non samsung phones, can't really shower with it
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great watch but..

This watch is truly amazing, I never wore a watch until I bought this one. I wear it every day, for work, working out, and wireless use. But after owning this watch for about a year it started to burning my skin, it's just a small circle on my wrist and it won't go away, I started to wear the watch on my other side and in about a month I could see a small burn circle starting to begin. I don't know why this happen.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: not loud enough
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cheaply made

Great watch with really good features but it is cheaply made. It is not durable as it scratches easy. It has a great design but it is is designed to look pretty on the wrist. It is not meant to use during active movements or exercising.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Honest Review From a Samsung Fanboy

Until this watch I wasn't really much of a watch person. I had bought my girlfriend at the time a smart watch from a different company and loved all the features I bought the frontier the day it became available thru my mobile carrier and became enamored with all the benefits. Battery life was decent considering I had Bluetooth on all the time and was constantly checking messages and emails and such through it.
Until the tizen 3.0 update which basically render my watch a paperweight at first I notice the significant hit on the battery life and than a few months later it no longer held a charge around the same time my warranty expired. So now I'm waiting on Samsung to fix the problem which I'm hoping was just a bad battery to enjoy my watch again
Pros: Bright display
Cons: Poor quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Honest Review

Had this for a year now and I have grown to dislike it. Each update makes it slow. The wake up gesture doesn't work as well now. I find myself flicking my wrist all the time just to get it to show the display. I would turn on the always on display but that would drain the battery life which is only good for a day. It's like having another phone attached to your wrist with nothing really much to gain. If you get this for your step counter and excersise tracking, just use the phone. The step counter isn't accurate at all. The amount of options on the s health app isn't enough to justify the use of this as a tracker.
Pros: Durable
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the watch, it works good. Still wishing for more apps, but this is a great watch. Battery life is good for almost 2 days.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This smartwatch can be call "Frontier" if: 1. It will be waterproof in 5 atm for swim, like Garmin Vivoactive 3, Vespa, Apple Watch etc. 2. It will have compass. 3. The battery will be better (I climb on mountain and I need a best battery).
Maybe the new Samsung Gear S4 will get this features. It will be the perfect smartwatch.
