Very slow
on November 22, 2022
Posted by: superkid2022
After 6 months of use, the drive has become increasingly slow and the issue continues to get worse, I purchased this drive because it was cheap and affordable. The drive is now almost 2 years old and is likely to fail soon so I will be RMAing it before the warranty is up on it in exchange for a WD Black.

Hello,
We're sorry to hear your user experience with the WD Blue Hard Drives and appreciate your time for providing this review.
Based on your concern, if the drive has behaving abnormally up on the computer then it could be due to insufficient power supply to the drive for operation. To isolate the cause of the drive failure, it is recommended to connect the drive as secondary storage via SATA port to the computer and check the drive for any damage or defect.
We recommend connecting the drive as secondary storage via SATA port to the computer, to test the health of the drive using Western Digital Dashboard for Windows.
"Western Digital Dashboard: How to Install and Use" https://support-en.wd.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/31759#subject2
If the test is unfortunately inconclusive and you just purchased the drive then you should be able to return it to the place of purchase. However, if you are past their return policy, you can create an RMA through WD and replace the drive under warranty if necessary.

Not happy at all!

I have this drive in my laptop and it lasted just over a year! When you buy these or purchase a computer with it already inside you expect it to last more than the warranty period!

Formatting Capacity
on September 6, 2021

Drive is only formatting to 15 GB instead of the 500 GB. A little disappointing for a WD product not delivering its stated capacity. please contact me if there is any software support to resolve this to get full capacity on windows 7 Enterprise.

Hello
I have a lenovo ideapad 110 15isk with wd5000lpcx hdd. I upgrade it with 250 gb ssd. I wanted to use hdd the 2nd drive in a caddy instead of odd. The bios detects it, but not in the windows. 2 piece hdd from another manufacturer (1.5 TB SATA3 and 250 GB SATA2) works properly. Why not works it in the wd5000lpcx caddy? What is the reason?
