I admit I am clumsy along with having a toddler; this otter box has "defended" my phone from countless drops already. It is sturdy and uniquely beautiful. Not the standard case that gets easily confused with someone else's phone case, therefore it is easily identifiable.
It’s pretty, but nowhere near as durable as my last defender case. It’s been a couple weeks and it already has scratches on the smooth backside where the dots are. I had my previous case for years and never a scratch.

Hey Huneb2000,
Yikes! Looks like this Defender series is suffering from some severe spring allergies and needs a replacement case to step in! Please feel welcome to call our Otter doctors at 1-855-688-7269, and they'll remedy this situation with a quick warranty claim. You'll have a healthy new Defender on your iPhone in no time at all!
I bought this and have had it a week. The case is just like all other defenders EXCEPT slippery. The design on the back of the case makes slippery, making it way easier to drop! I had no idea when I ordered it that the texture would be different than a regular defender. I bought this to protect my phone. Not so that I would drop it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Lagrern,
We’re sorry that this Defender is bit too slippery for your comfort level. It certainly was not our intention to cause any precarious situations. Please feel free to give our friendly Otters a call at 1-855-688-7269, and we will be more than happy to assist in any way that we can!
I used an Otterbox Defender on my iPhone 4 and loved it—six years without a crack. Comparatively, I find that the Defender for the iPhone 7 is much stiffer at the "joints," which makes it a bit of a fight to access the power button or plug-in. The plastic over the home button functions well, but sometimes unsticks from the button if it hasn't been touched for a while, and then when it's touched again, the plastic tends to bunch. Finally, I find that my pretty mint-green case tends to dirty very easily—after just a week (and keeping relatively clean hands), there is already visible grey film on the case. :(
