I bought this crock pot because it has a hinged cover that stays up when you open it. It's a good crock pot but the outside metal is a little flimsy. I'm going to have to be careful not not to dent it.

The lid has its pros and cons. Pro: it’s nice to just flip up rather than drain excess water away every time it has to be set down. Con: since the lid is in such a fixed position, it doesn’t actually shut all the way. It’d certainly be nice if it did, but it probably has only a marginal effect on the food dehydrating too quickly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
