Waste of money

I used this for the first three months, about three times a week. It makes a lot of noise, and it started to drip liquid through the base although the seal was tight and in good condition. And while it was on, it would shake a lot, and I’d have to hold it. So, I stopped using it and put it away, and started using my old blender (Wolfgang Puck)which is about 8 years old, and it still worked better than this blender. I wrote to customer service, and never got a response. Absolutely do not recommend.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love this blender. It has a nice retro look, blends my breakfast smoothies quickly without having to push down the ingredients inside and no, it is not too loud.

Great features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My Breville blender was not working well and it seemed impossible to clean and smell fresh. This is super easy to use, easy to clean and built well. I love that the Mason Jar fits the blade. It doesn't seem to be the best for smoothies as the one setting does not completely blend the ice or fruit. Mine came with a food processor plastic jar which is nice to use too.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Blade jams

Blade jams and is no longer operable. No replacement blade available for this model. Otherwise great product -- until blade became inoperable.

Amazing

I don't know what anyone could say bad about this blender. I have had my blender for about a year. I did buy the 6 blade ice crusher blade. It's flipping awesome. I make 2 to 3 protein shakes a day. I cut peeled bananas in half and freeze them. I use 3 banana halves and about 8 ice cubes each shake. I have had no problems at all.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Blade loosened, noise, and bad leaking

We bought our Whirlwind a year ago to make smoothies. We made them daily, never using more than partially frozen fruit with juice and yogurt, but the unit leaked the contents at the base and the blade shook. We struggled with loud noise (neighbors commented on it), the odor of metal friction, and discolored metal liquid when we'd rinse between smoothies. Had to finally retire it after only 1 year of usage. Tried disassembling/reassembling, WD-40 for the noise/friction, and just couldn't resolve the issues of a faulty seal or noise. Had high hopes but came away very disappointed.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
