Loved it so much, we bought it twice!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We bought this fridge a few years ago, in our old house. We absolutely loved it. Lots of space for everything, and really and truly we bought this for the ice maker. Crazy, right? Hear me out, my family goes through ice like it's disappearing at any moment. We've had all out wars over no ice. No joke. So we did an insane amount of research to settle on this fridge. Nice, big ice maker, lots of space and configurations for the fridge, freezer is very roomy, (tip - go get some small cutting boards, use them as dividers within the freezer ((think filing cabinet)), you can always see what you've got), the power cold feature is so, so awesome!!! The center drawer is wonderful! Easy to see stuff for the kids, and snacks galore. Game changer for us. So when we moved, about a year ago, we reluctantly sold the fridge with the house. New house had an older side by side fridge. Back to the ice wars, no room for freezer, we were shopping every week because we just couldn't store anything. Dove back into research to see what newer things had come out. Finally realized we really just wanted the old fridge back. We were happy with it, we knew what to expect, no ice wars, etc. So purchased the exact same one again. Things are finally calm in my household. No wars, lots of food, and snacks. One extremely satisfied Mom here. Couldn't be happier, thank you Maytag for restoring peaceful times to my household :)

Poor desing

We purchased this refrigerator about a year ago and are very dissatisfied. The center support for the crisper drawers has broken and been replaced (our expense) 3 times. When we replace it it lasts a matter of days and breaks again. The long drawer below the crisper drawer has a lid that also has broken several time. Things freeze near the ice maker and in the drawers. We have had a technician out to check and they have no answers just indicate that it is a poorly designed refrigerator. at the very least, they should be replacing the plastic pieces that are failing but don’t.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Huge fridge and still no space

Had the fridge for just over 2 years and I totally regret purchasing it. The ice maker takes up a huge amount of space in the fridge section. Forget about storing full size bottles upright anywhere except the door. The water and ice dispenser are nice however it pretty much makes the left side door storage only good for the tiniest of things. And now the lighting in the fridge section has gone completely dim. After a bit of research I found that this is a known issue with this fridge model. Their 10-Year warranty is only for one component - the compressor, and nothing else.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Water dispenser drips constantly!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Water dispenser drips constantly since the day we hooked it up. We have had a repair guy out twice since we got this refrigerator a month ago and both times they said they fixed it and the minute they left it started dripping again, like it was waiting for the guy to leave. So they have now said it's a fix and wait, fix and wait, fix and wait kind of thing until they find the problem. How many parts can there be? How many times will the repair guy have to come out? Not happy at all! Disappointed! I guess I will keep switching out the wet towel everyday until it is fixed...can't wait for that day!

Nothing but problems

We purchased a full kitchen of Maytag appliances from a dedicated dealer and have had nothing but issues with this one. Icemaker has had issues 3 times, lighting board failed, handles do not tighten. Would never buy this again and it has negatively impacted my opinion of all maytag appliances.

It doesn't scream look how exciting I am!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My last refrigerator was a Frigidaire I bought in 2008, same configuration except no water and ice, and worked trouble free for 15 years, so I'm hoping this one does the same thing, and remains boring, uneventful, yet reliable. I've only had this one for 2 weeks now, and haven't read the manual yet, to figure out how it really works. I originally wanted the same thing with no ice and water, but they were sold out. The water taste good, equal or better than Brita, and the ice can be dispensed as cube or crush form. The ice is white in the center, was hoping for clear ice but that is commercial technology. Doesn't appear to have a IOT chip and 5G cellular, which is fine with me. The light is very bright, and lights up everything with no dark areas. It's built like any other American refrigerator, with the stainless steel looking facade in the front. The handles feel good in the hand, and the doors are smooth when opening and closing. The water dispensing system contains 3 pints of very cold water, then it goes warm. The shelves are well built, with great spacing for Gallon milk and wine bottles. I'm shopping for another water filter system to use inline in back of this unit, to further enhance the water, see if I can make the ice clearer.
So I bought the Maytag Commercial Front load washer and dryer last summer, and that turned out to be a marvel in technology, very exciting, and well thought out. Was kind of hoping to get the same feeling from this unit, but it wasn't there.
So far I trust this refrigerator, all my food is very cold or very frozen, and just pray that they are made just as well now as they were back in the day. I pray because I've heard the horror stories from Samsung and LG owners, about compressors failing in short time, and water dispensing by itself in the middle of the night. My friends told me I was stupid not to buy the extended warranty, but maybe my friends were stupid to buy the mentioned brands.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Very Dissatisfied!

I am VERY DISSATISFIED with this refrigerator! I bought this because my last one was a great refrigerator and MADE IN THE USA. The crisper shield has cracked, and three other the condiment holders have cracked! The icemaker is less than adequate compared to my prior refrigerator. I would rather pay a little more to have a product that is MADE IN THE USA but this has failed to impress me.
I looked up what it would cost to replace the 4 pieces that are cracked and they are VERY EXPENSIVE. $70.00 to replace ONE condiment container. This is appalling!!
The material is very cheap and I should have thought about this when I purchased this. I was buying a MAYTAG microwave at the time and decided to buy this Stainless Steel Refrigerator along with the microwave as I want all stainless now. Should have been smarter. I AM NOT HAPPY!!
If I could have rated this a 0 I would have...
