Second time is a charm

Purchased the EI28BS65KS 18 months ago. First machine failed. Ice maker quit working, frost built up in lower compartment, frost and condensation between the back panel and insulation. 
Electrolux did replace with the same model at no cost to me other than the hassle of having the first repair bill and the time and inconvenience of having a major appliance fail.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed again

This is the 3rd refrigerator we have had since November 2010 because we have had so many problems with the ice maker. We have had this one for less than 6 months and we just had to call the repair person again for the same problem with the ice maker. With our first 2 refrigerators it didn't make any ice, or the ice melted. With this one, it make too much ice and once the ice compartment is full, it doesn't know to stop making ice. Recently it has been making a loud vibrating sound. The repair person has been call again and will probably be coming next week. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND AN ELECTROLUX product to anyone.
I am so disappointed in this product. One problem after the other.

Better than the one it replaced.

Our present Electrolux fridge replaces the "same" model we'd bought in 2010. In April of 2013, after constant problems with the ice-maker, Electrolux agreed to replace it. We'd had at least 15 service calls on the ice-maker alone in that time and were more than a little disappointed with it. It seems it was a design problem that Electrolux has, happily, found the way to fix. As I said, we received this replacement after much waiting, and have been very happy with it's entire performance including the new, additional ice-maker in the bottom freezer. While we don't use it all the time, when we're having a gathering, it produces ice beautiful. The one in the door has both produced and dispensed ice with no problems and it's been 6 months so far. The last Electrolux fridge had been repaired at least 5 time by this time...unsuccessfully in spite of the tech's best efforts and getting direct help from Electrolux while he was here. Electrolux seems to have taken the problem seriously and made good strides in correcting and improving this product and I'm as happy with it as I'd hoped to be after spending more than we'd ever spent for a refrigerator before. Thank you Electrolux for standing behind your product. It would have been better if it hadn't taken so long, but you did finally come through.

Worst appliance ever

I have had this model replaced with a new twice in three years. So three units in three years. The last replacement lasted 3 days before it had an overheating issue in the main cooling area. Over 20 repairman trips to the house in three years. Finally the company I bought this from was generous enough to allow me to trade this in for a different brand...which has been fabulous. I love the look but the quality is terrible. Last Electrolux I will ever.

What happened to quality?

I was so excited to purchase this refrigerator as it was a relatively good upgrade. Unfortunately, within the first year, the top ice maker has already stopped working, the bottom freezer drawer often does not close all of the way because of the way the upper interior rack is designed, the bottom ice maker often cannot eject ice cubes and as a result the system clicks and clicks until you reach in (not easy) with your hand to remove the stuck cube. If that were not enough, the system has become increasingly loud, I expect that it will stop working all together within the next few months to a year. Yes, I changed the high-priced filter and that has not prevented any of the aforementioned maladies. Remember the days when refrigerators worked for 10+ years? Of course, they were avocado green, but at this point, I would consider orange if I thought the machine would last more than a couple of years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Still can't get it right

This is the second replacement and although it is nice having the second ice maker in the bottom drawer, it does not know when to shut off. Everytime I open the drawer, ice spills out the back, gets hung up somewhere in the back of the freezer sometimes preventing the drawer from closing completely causing other issues. We have to manually shut it off, get down on the floor and get a long spoon to sweep the ice out of the bottom to close it. .....now, after seven months.....the top ice maker has quit working.
