My daughter received this as a gift and absolutely adores it. Love that it features a superhero girl, great for boys and girls to see females represented that way! Sturdy toy that stands up well to rough play and great for imaginative play!
We received the bumble bee superhero doll a couple of weeks ago and it has been a hit ever since. I have a 7 year old son and a 2 year old daughter and they have both enjoyed playing with. My son loves it because it is a superhero toy and it makes his games more realistic for him as all good superhero teams have girls in them and my daughter likes to copy her big brother so chasing him with her own superhero doll ideal. I like this toy as it's quite a simple design and it doesn't come with lots of small parts.
I have 2 boys aged 5 and 8 and they couldn't have happier with this doll. They love all superhero stuff and even though Bumble Bee is a girl, she fitted straight in with their games and adventures. Nicely made, tough enough and very very cool.
My daughters play very intensely with dolls so was impressed by the strength and durability of Bumble Bee. The limbs all move at the joints and she is able to stand up on her own more easily than dolls like Barbie. I'm going to be getting the rest of the series of dolls. I would have given 5/5 but the girls didn't like the braided part of her hair, they would have preferred a full head of hair.
When we received it my daughter was over the moon. Hannah is 4 and loves the superhero scene so it was a perfect doll for her. I like the fact it's a unusual - a bumblebee. By the way the doll helped my daughter overcome the fear or bees! Now she thinks it's superhero girls coming to say hello.
It's very well made. All joints are moving so it can be put in million different positions; what a nice surprise it was when I noticed that her torso can move too! I like her modern hairstyle. Clothes are well made as well, no fraying (even after a wash in a washing machine); they are also very easy to put on as legs are not made of rubber. Wings can be removed and she becomes ''a regular girl''.
I am amazed how detailed everything is! Fingers, toes etc. Hannah likes her open hand as she can high 5 her :-) Body is fit, not thin, which is an awesome idea I think.
Bumblebee has been already taken to bed, bath and school. After the bath her hair got a bit frizzy but a bit of fabric softener restored its shine.
This is a review of Bumble Bee, a 12 inch doll from "DC Superhero Girls". A group of all-female superheros from the DC universe, which we've seen online via short animated clips. Some of the other characters include Wonder Woman, Supergirl, Batgirl, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.
We have two daughters, aged 8 and 5. They have several other similar sized dolls from Disney and My Little Pony Equestrian Girls which they play with.
Bumble Bee has a black and yellow colour scheme with a shiny gold top and matching honey combed tights. Her two wings attached to a removal backpack, two blue wrist cuffs and removal boots, which our youngest loves to take on and off and play with them.
All her clothes come off and are made of a high quality jersey. Her hair feels soft and natural and the girls like styling it. The short braided side is plastic.
It's surprising how the doll's joints bend and rotate realistically: her wrists rotate and bend, as do her elbows, shoulders and knees. Her legs go back and forward and also do a wide stance. And her torso rotates at chest level. It's quite impressive.
Our youngest daughter, aged 5, said "It's good. She can move around and talk to other dolls, and even behind her. I like her because of her superpower on her wrist. She can turn around as well and it's really funny her bum is at the front!"
The plastic used for the doll is a good quality one, it will not break or wear easily. Attention to detail has gone into the modelling of the limbs.
Compared to the other branded dolls we have, I would buy another one in DC Superhero Girls range.
My girls were absolutely delighted when they saw the superhero doll and immediately enquirers about what and how her 'powers' worked. My elder son immediately recognised it as a character from superhero high.
The girls liked the fact that you can pretend she flies. negative was that her arm fell off whilst they were playing but they managed to stick it back in. Great that there is a doll toy that is more about action and adventure than barbie. Packaging wasn't too difficult to remove the doll from. Great that she can stand on her own unlike other some other dolls.
