I have 1 of these Radio's and when had a storm a few weeks ago electric was off for 12 hrs and used it with batteries and never had any trouble ! So ordered one for a friend here in town so she could be able to get news about what a going on when we have power out again !

Perfect radio

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my second radio I bought the first one 10 years ago maybe. I took it on many vacations. It is a great beach radio. Was working fine until I dropped it on a concrete porch. I am so happy I found these radios were still being made. I would highly recommend this radio

A necessity living in a hurricane zone

And having the added feature of a battery charging crank gives you a little less stress if the power goes down knowing you can still have enough juice to get a life saving message.

Good Radio but Frequency guide not correct

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the radio, but in order to tune to (for example) 820 AM, I have to set the dial at 700 AM +/-. None of the stations can be correctly tuned because the frequency numbers are incorrectly placed on the radio -- meaning it was improperly assembled. I like the radio itself (performance is good once you find the station), but going to contact Radio Shack to request it be returned because of this issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
