Slow start but Great Finish

I found the learning curve with the remote a little long but after I mastered the pointer, I was up and running. Having been involved in TV for many years, I have watched the evolution of the medium and can say that I have never enjoyed a picture as much. The detail is stunning and the color brilliant.

What a difference. Like all the features including the setup, internet, etc. I'm not crazy about the magic remote. Also the Simplink connection will not work your LG sound bar. It requires a HDMI connection. Allother Simplink components using the HDMI connection work just fine. The picture quality is outstanding and I like the upsacle featues available. A wonderful upgrade.

Does it Walk on Water? Almost!

It is very very nice. Would I love to see JD in 3D Walking on the water with this TV? YES!!!. The picture is awesome do not fret other reviews about bleeding light every tv does it and in my viewing opinion it reminds me more of Real Cinema. I have very expensive media products to very less costly good products so I am speaking to those who remember the lighting on big screen when at the Movies as the curtain drew open and then wham you have immersion of colors and the magic of Cinema. This Tv is awesome it is not perfect. If you are Looking at this TV for your Movie Room TV, I recommend get the biggest one you can afford. I purchased the 47inch because I have a theater room already established and this LG TV for me is sized for my Kitchen Living and Dinning room on a articulating Wall mount.
The Speakers sound very well which is great to keep my area uncluttered and another less thing to clean around. When I am ready to replace my Theater Room TV I will be Watching for LG. This LG 47LM8600 is Mine. I am Very Happy, LG If They ask me for it to give back I would have to tell them No.
It's also Fun to use all the different Apps. I can't wait to see all the upgrades that will come along as the Apps change all the time. Oh Yea It Looks pretty pretty Nice on the wall too. I went threw a few TV's and I sent them back. This one is definitely a Keeper. I am still learning from it every time I watch it. I got the 3D so clear it's stunning. It's not the 3D when I was a kid Thank God, It's very very Nice. PS The remote control is not a problem it's different then the Old School for good reason. And to be honest I want a media experience performance over a keyboard however this TV will let you do that and allow you the option of keyboard but can you see the kids passing it around when everyone is trying to watch the TV!. For me and this review I like not having a keyboard hanging around the rooms. The remote fits in a draw. And the functions of talking to the remote voice work for me just fine. But I rather use it in typical fashion but that's just me. It's not perfect some apps needed resetting the activation a few times but software changes and is always improving as anyone with a computer knows that much. My ISP provider is so slow it's pitiful but this TV in my fair to say Large home makes My ISP look good. I am happy and thumbs way up I recommend it. With all the features this TV has built in it which are great to me but in what matters the most is the picture performance is Awesome and the sound is satisfying that I do not have to add sound bars or such. Yea!

Excellent 3D TV

Would rate this 5 stars except for the Magic Remote (OK but would rather have a more conventional remote as the Magic leaves a lot to be desired when it comes to entering information for an Internet search and use.) and display of incoming telephone number information is missing (a feature I had on the previous TV and I miss it!).

Everyone says "wow, what a picture"

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my present to myself and yet my wife wants to watch football on it. It is better than being at the game. The picture is excellent. A couple of times, the sound has gone out or something but after being off awhile, it worked again.
