Much too hot

I have been trying since Christmas to get the hang of this flat iron. Even on the lowest setting it burns my hair - as in the singed smell and fried ends. I don't know if my model is faulty but there does not seem to be any difference between the settings - it is always extremely hot. The one good thing is that I have been learning how to cut my own hair as I have had to remove the ends several times. Today was the last time that will happen. My hair is thick but very fine so I will be looking for an iron with cooler settings.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This beautiful Remington flat iron heats up super fast, has adjustable settings for different hair types, is easy to maneuver because of the swivel cord and takes the frizzies out my hair with ease. It makes my hair look smooth and shiny...I was amazed at the difference using this flat iron vs. a regular curling iron which dries and dulls my hair.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wasn’t super impressed. I have straight hair that frizzes when blow dried. This straightener doesn’t leave it as flat as I like.

The plates get nice and hot...and they are the perfct size for my medium length hair...I am able to flat iron it in no time!!! I love it!! The beautfil purple color is just one of the added features that makes me love this item!!!!
