didn't grind food up enough

This disposal did not work for us. Down the line away from the sink, we have old plumbing with a 90 degree angle. This disposal processed the food too quickly and did not grind it up enough. We had to uplug our plumbing twice after installing it. We switched to another brand and have had no problems at all.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed After 2 Years

We had this installed in our new home just 2 years ago. It worked fine until recently. We tried all the troubleshooting to determine the blades were free (no jam) and the internal wheel turned smoothly. Still, all we have after only two years of periodic use is a hum. Very disappointed given that we never used this roughly--only grapes, tomatoes, lettuce, rice, etc...
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy installation

We bought this as a replacement for an earlier model. Replacement was easy. The new unit works perfectly and seems to be quieter than the old one.

Great Features

I've had this Whirlpool product for a few months now and I'm definitely impressed with this model. It is virtually soundless as it takes pieces of fresh garbage that is preferable to send though the sewage system for recycle than to create unsanitary conditions for family and pets. Although I added a 1/4 hp from my previous model, the sound is not indicative as this 1/2 hp garbage disposal purrs like a kitten.

Our last one was an off brand and I paid more for it than the Whirlpool!Was a little worried about it being only 1/2 HP but it out performs the 3/4 HP it replaced!Thanks Whirlpool for Quality products!

Previous Disposal stopped working, water wouldn't even pass through it. Replaced with this model. Its working great! Drains and sink are usable again!
