Camping with 2 grandchildren and big dog

2 years ago I used this on a backpack trip with my 2 grandchildren and a big dog. We camped by a big river in Colorado and used that water every day filling our water bottles up for day trips after purification. Love this thing-- no one got sick. We kept it powered by a portable, folding solar panel. I later recommended it to a friend going on a mission trip to Africa. Same results-- no sickness!

Water is important - clean water essential

Bought this unit for a hike along the west coast of Vancouver island - so glad I did.
It purifies very quickly and even after several liters per day over 4 days it still had power. I did bring a powerback and USB cable just in case though.

The benefit here is clear (haha) - you need to stop for water and pulling a filter out of your pack can be a hassle - so it gets skipped. Not a good idea. With this unit you can just pull the UV head out of a pocket, get the water, clean it and be done.
At the water sources, this got a LOT of attention and I am sure that several folks ran to their local shop to get one for their next hike.

Stunning performance even at very low temperatures

This has provided us with clean water on every trip we have mad to North america from Banff to Yosemite where hideous things like gardia are said to lurk in the streams and pools.
Very quick to use the battery life even at below freezing conditions has been sufficient for our modest 7-day trips.
