This is only day two with my new watch but so far it is functioning as it should. I did find it somewhat difficult to get connected to my phone. It would not connect via Bluetooth right away and took several attempts over about a half hour period. After it connected it has been working great. I will be comparing it my Google Fit readings to determine how accurate the step counter is.
I've had this for nearly two weeks now, and so far, I love it! I've wanted a step & sleep tracker for a long time, until now the market has been full of activity trackers that don't suit my style. So, I've waited patiently for a hybrid watch, and, this doesn't disappoint! It looks great on my wrist and to the untrained eye, looks like an ordinary (but stylish!) watch. I think the only way to comment on the accuracy, would be to wear a selection of activity trackers at the same time. However, it seems to give similar step results to the iPhone health app (- though I do wake up to around 100 steps every morning, with no evidence of sleep walking!). The sleep tracker seems to accurately capture awake, light and restful sleep ( - though, it doesn't capture naps, and if you check the app in the middle of the night - it doesn't capture any sleep after that). I like the discreet notification when you get a phone call (or text, or email) from one of your selected contacts - it vibrates to let you know it is worth checking your phone. You also can set up an alarm on the watch, and it will vibrate when you hit your step goal for the day (e.g. 10,000 steps). You can set up the buttons on the watch to do different things, e.g. see the time in a different timezone, pause/skip songs playing on your phone. In the time I've had the watch, I've also switched phones, and was impressed that between the iPhone restore and watch syncing, I didn't lose any of my data or have to set up the watch again.
I am bemused and confounded by the few people that gave this watch terrible reviews. I purchased a model SKT1100P...all stainless steel about a month ago at the Skagen flagship store in Skagen DK. I do think that the setup and instructional manual could be improved. This is my only criticism. So far the device has become part of my everyday life -- certainly improving my activity level and sleep cycle practices. The timing accuracy appears to be spot on.
I love classic watches but, am also a very active cardio workout enthusiast. I have owned Rolexes, Omegas, and Hamiltons, and when I saw the new Skagen Connect, it was love at first sight. The features that I really wanted were sleep monitoring, steps, and the Link (it will let you ring phone, control music, take a photo, or track a specific goal). The App is easy to follow, but, if you are looking for a pure smartphone this is not for you. It is not designed nor promoted as such and you will not monitor heart rate, receive calls, emails, or texts. Notifications are very limited, the vibrator and alarm sound need improvement.
I bought this watch last minute as a wedding present for my now husband and I was not sure if he would like the style of the watch. I got him a Skagen watch back in May and he really liked that one - but he told me he wanted that specific one. This purchase was solely me choosing it based on its features and classic look. The watch did not disappoint - it is now my husband's favorite watch :)
The visual appeal of this watch is stunning and the high craftsmanship is apparent. I set it for notifications, and they work every time. I don't use it as a step counter or sleep monitor, so I cannot comment on those features.
I wanted a nice looking watch that I could wear to fancy events that didn't sacrifice on smart functionality. This does it perfectly for me. It's very minimalistic, not too gaudy, and gets the job done. I've only owned it for a month so I don't know how long the battery lasts, but it hasn't changed battery levels since I've taken it out of the box. Highly recommend.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have owned this watch for nearly 2 years and love it, I bought a couple of different skagen watch straps over time which keeps the watch style varied and changeable depending on where I'm going. The smart elements are a welcome addition but for me the quality and watch design was what made me buy this model.
