This washer is awful! It is so loud, the buttons on top are so cheap I feel as thou they will break within a few weeks. It leaves my clothes dirty and with stains on them. There are detergent stains on my clothes because it doesn't properly wash them off. It either fills with too little water or too much water. I wish my old Maytag didn't break, I hate this new one! Don't buy it, you will hate it! It wastes so much water. You can't go from the Soak cycle into a wash cycle, it throws the water away and it re-starts. It takes forever to do a load of laundry.

Hi KeriK, we understand your frustration and are sorry you are unhappy with the design of the washer. The Department of Energy standards state how much water any water-based appliances can use, and our washers meet all of their stringent guidelines. We would recommend balling up the clothing similar to the size of a soccer ball, and place around the agitator one at a time. We recommend next stack it up so it is around the sides, and the agitator plate is visible with all of the clothing around it. Do not fill up past the 2nd to last row of holes in the basket to help avoid overloading. The bulky cycle will allow more water to enter the tub, but will not spin on the highest spin setting. This residue is lint. Laundry detergent has properties that attract lint and it looks like undissolved detergent. In almost all cases, the issue is lint build up in the washer. While we love our natural fibers (cotton, linen, wool, etc.,) these can leave extra lint in the washer that is not broken down in the filter before it is broken down enough to go through the drain. There are a couple of things that can be done to reduce or eliminate this issue. After washing a load of lint-giving items, wipe the tub out to get rid of extra lint that is in the tub. As the tubs are pretty big, you can also run a rinse and spin to help remove it as well.

Spin is no good

I have had this machine, or at least one similar for several years. It is a lousy machine. Broke in the first 6 months. The spin cycle does not spin the clothes dry. It takes 2 full dry cycles to dry a load of laundry. My old Admiral took a third of that time. The only reason for 1 star is they don't provide for a lower rating!

Worst washing machine ever!

If it were possible I would give this machine a 0. Worst washing machine ever. My old machine quit after YEARS of good cleaning and I was in a bind for a replacement. As a result I didn’t shop and impulsively purchased this model. It GRINDS your clothes together with virtually no water - regardless of the cycles you choose. The lid constantly locks not allowing access. Yes it will unlock, IF you have time to sit and mess with it. No matter how you load the clothes, or the cycle you use it is more often than not off balance for spin cycle. AND after all that - it doesn’t clean your clothes! I guess if all you ever did was walk your dog or work in an office (no offense - just different type of dirt) it might be sufficient. But if you do a labor intensive job - forget it. Mud, grease, dirt, makeup - NOPE! As soon as I have the money I’m dumping this JUNK on some unsuspecting soul and SHOPPING for a real washing machine. Not high efficiency; high frustration!

Major disappointment

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Recently in purchasing this particular unit I'm greatly disappointed as the water levels are almost nothing to completely full which it this point it has never gotten full yet even when putting on the full amount of the water level.
It's supposed to be automatic water leveling and the clicks off and on are okay. I do not be bothered by that but the fact is only the bottom clothes get wet the top ones if I raise a little enough to peek into it at various times during the cycle the top clothing is never had any water on it if I could return this unit I would in a heartbeat

I hate this washer!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I hate the inability to control the water level...it’s lterally all or nothing. I don’t like putting detergent in a dry washer, then putting clothes right on top of it...I prefer water entering the machine first so I can add detergent to the water so the detergent isn’t full strength, and THEN add clothes. Sometimes I like a warm rinse, especially when hang drying clothes, so they wrinkle less. This is a terrible washer. Wish I had never bought it.

AS SOON AS THE WASHER WAS CONNECTED IT MADE NOISE.I WAS TOLD THAT IS THE WAY IT IS. I HAVE NEVER HEARD SUCH RACKET.SOUNDS IT IS IN THIS HORRIBLE MACHINE SHOP WITH CLANKING SCRAPING ETC.I CAN NOT BELIEVE MAYTAG WOULD PUT THIS ITEM ON THE MARKET. I AM BEGINNING TO THINK THAT THIS WAS A MACHINE WAS BUILT WITH ALL USED PARTS.

Love my Maytag

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love this washing machine for the water saving feature. It is wonderful to know the clothes get washed with just the amount of water needed. It feels good to know I'm not wasting water. The wash is powerful, the clothes are thoroughly cleaned, and the spin is so good that they require a lot less drying.
