Overall I am very pleased with the performance of this refrigerator. I am disappointed that the storage drawers seem cheaply made and have gaps where I think they should fit tighter. Also no place to store ice cube trays. This was my mistake. Never thought of a freezer not having cube space. Overall it all it is a good working product, but I would have to say for the above reasons I would not recommend it to a friend. The price is too high to have cheaply made parts.

We love the bottom freezer. It holds far more that the larger refrigerators we have purchased over the years. The design of this refrigerator allows for easy access to both freezer and refrigerator. Wish they made the same size as the Amana I previously had. This one a bit small, next size would have been a bit too big for it's cubby hole. My biggest disappointment is that when it runs it is so very noisy. I can hear it rooms away. It is a nice looking item. Freezer on the bottom. I would recommend it but warn about the loud noise when it is running. I don't recall my previous Amana to have been so loud.

I had one exactly like this for 12 years when I owned a house and when I moved to my new apartment, I figured I could never have one like this again! I was so wrong!! The split shelves are so versatile! Hot air rises so it makes more sense to have the fridge on top and freezer below. Also, I am more into the fridge than the freezer on a daily basis, right? Everything at eye height.
