Quite a few of the reviews say “how quiet” this disposal is. We found just the opposite ... it’s the loudest disposal we have ever owned!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello Kahooch - Thanks for choosing GE and for sharing your concern with us. GE disposers can grind food waste at a rate of 8000 rpms. It is powerful enough to grind chicken bones and small steak bones. A disposer can sound like a blender running or even a small vacuum sweeper. This is normal.
