Exceptionally easy to install

it took me a lot longer to remove the old disposal (another brand) than it took to install the GE disposal.

Super Quiet Powerhouse!

This was purchased to replace an old loud power hungry disposal that made the lights in when in use. This is very quiet, yet powerful and no problems handling what we send down (within reason, of course).
I would recommend this to a friend!

Disappointed !

I installed this disposer about 4 years ago. It's never used more than about 1 minute per week....never put foods down it to grind, except for a few small soft food particles rinsed off a plate and nothing has ever jammed it. Yesterday I turned it on to find the grinding plate stop spinning and actually sheered off the motor shaft! There must have been a defect in the manufacturing of the grinding plate mounting shaft! After calling customer service, they said there was nothing they could do except send out an expensive plumber to tell me it was broken! I had to buy and install a new one! (I replaced it with the same model as I didn't want to redo all the drain lines and sink flange. I originally bought the GE Brand as I thought it would be the top of the line quality. (I have been a GE appliance fan for 30 years...always expecting high quality)
Has there been a known defect in this unit? Please advise.

Noisy and shakes the sink. It does do what it is supposed to ... dispose the food

I wish GE would get rid of the recessed nut that holds the electric cover on the connection chamber. It is TERRIBLE. I can't imagine trying to get it off while the unit is installed in normal position. This adds 15 minutes to the install. This is the reason we don't typically buy this brand for our Property Managers
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
