Bought this system a few weeks ago and so far not many issues with it. Can be a little fussy to setup but for the price its great.

Exceeded Expectations

Before purchasing I looked at a lot of different units/companies. I knew I wanted a wired unit and not wireless (no batteries, personal preference). I finally decided on this Defender unit. My expectations were pretty low considering all the stuff I have bought over the years and what that stuff was like when I got it. The Defender arrived in two boxes since I bought an additional four cameras. I was very impressed just unwrapping everything because it was so well packaged. Each camera had its own box and every thing was compact and well protected. A quality job. I was still skeptical with how I thought the cameras would perform and how hard everything would be to hook up. Again I was pleasantly surprised, everything was plug and play. The hardest part was climbing around in my attic to run the wires. Once it was all hooked up everything worked! I'm not a big cell phone user but downloading the app was a snap. It is very cool that I can view the cameras on the cell phone from anywhere, a cool feature I think Defender should advertise more. The menu is very self explaining and you can get around easily. The unit has been running now for about two months and I check it every once in a while but not often. I just rely on it doing its job. I have the main unit under my TV in the front room for now but intend on putting it in the basement.
Overall I am very happy with the whole unit and impressed with it. Easy install, plug and play, quality packaging. I would recommend this unit to anyone.

Great views, excellent pricing

We bought our Defender HD 1080p with 8 bullet cameras approx a month ago. We love it! Super easy to install and operate. Great pictures and love though hardwired, we also can view wirelessly on our phones, tablets etc. for added security. Super products at a great price.

HD Defender 1080 8 channel / 4 camera security system is wonderful. The set up was quick and easy. The 60 ft cords that come with the kit worked for 2 of the 4 camera and I purchased additional 120 cords. The picture is very clear and the night vision is great. The only downfall is that I can't use the APP on my laptop, To access remotely, I must use my smart phone. I would like it see it on my laptop because the phone picture is too small.

easy to set up cameras

I have been using this system for 2 months now and day time picture is great
night time picture is good for about 50 feet
set up was easy just make sure you run the cables the right way different ends for the camera and the box, supplied cables are 60 feet long

Just what I needed, better than expected

I bought this a couple of weeks ago. Arrived within 3 days ready to go. Installation of the equipment was a breeze. There is careful planning and time required to place the cameras and layout the cable runs but more than enough cable to wire a 1000 sq ft home. Once all was setup used the app for final adjustments of the camera. Excellent pictures. I would recommend this to anyone looking for good system providing online monitoring when away as well... excellent online video.

Year ago our Eagles Lodge purchased a 8 camera system. Recently expanded our facility and needed more camera. To our delight the old wiring and cameras were compatible with the new system. Easy to install, more complete directions would be helpful for a first timer. Pictorial helped a lot. Realize that duplication of manual would be costly, but I would highly encourage its inclusion.
