I've had defender for almost 5 years now, and I must say that their new system of DVR'S is amazing! My old one went out after a power surge and I had to replace the DVR. The new Defender DVR is so easy to install. Simple as 123. My old cameras worked 100% with the new DVR. I currently have 8 cameras at my home. But the best part of the new DVR was the ability to remove the IP address from my internet service. The new DVR has a QR scan which allows you to automatically connect to your internet which connects your cameras to your phone once you download the Defender HD app. I would HIGHLY suggest anyone who wants a simple connection to home security to purchase this system!

Does the job

I needed surveillance because property was being stolen and damaged. It's been great to have and has given me peace of mind. It's a good value for the price and the hard drive is more than adequate. Just wish zoom quality was better.

I bought this three days ago and set it up right away and they are the best I've seen so far, and I've had tree sets before and the video quality was ok but this is actually 1080,

Great Cameras

I bought these cameras to replace my 7 year old system. I'm so glad I upgraded. The difference is like night and day. The hardest part with installation is running the wires. For me it was not as bad as all i did was tie the new wire to the old wire and pulled it. After that the setup was a breeze. The camera housing is plastic but the resolution of theses cameras are really good. DVR also supports up to 4 microphones. I've installed 2 so far and the sound is really clear. The Hard Drive is only 1TB and will only record roughly about 6 days running 7 cameras. I plan on upgrading to at least 4TB. The night vision is nice. I have a small IR lights next to each of my old cameras which helped my old system at night. With those IR lights, these cams look really clear. I'm really happy with the system and highly recommend it.

I bought this a few weeks ago for my company and the quality of the equipment was good but there is not detailed manual and it also was difficult to set up on our network.

Easy to set up

We just bought this, but we got the 4 bullet cameras. We needed the wired system as we were using some of the cameras in a metal building. Setting up the iPhone and ipad was really easy with the defender app. We are in the process of installing the cameras in the metal building through plastic conduit under ground. So far its a nice system for the price.
