Great Image and easy to set up.

I used Lorex and the pictures quality is not good and hard to set up. Just changed to Defender and so happy with it.

I bought this a few weeks ago and was impressed with the light weight cameras. They were easy to install and it was easy to set up the DVR.

I have had system since first part of December and just got 4 of my 8 cameras install this week. Has lots of features that I'm still trying to figure out.

Disappointing long distance viewing.

Purchased for viewing of my home while on travel approx. 950 miles away. Experienced very very slow play back on laptop and wasn't able to view HD at all while in play back. IPhone is useless for play back while traveling . I was however able to view the live streaming with no problems on both laptop and IPhone. There is an alarm or motion alert when transitioning from day to night vision and vise verse. Instructions state not to record and also use motion detecting at same time however I found no problems with doing so. While sitting approx. 12ft from DVR in my home everything works correctly and at an acceptable speed. The temperature here has fallen to 7 degrees at night and the outside camera works fine but the motion detecting is reduced or delayed greatly. Had problems setting up the DVR using Windows 10.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I replaced my older uni with this HD one and the quality is amazing. I would recommed getting your system its own monitor. The lag over the internet really makes the picture quality poor if you are streaming it online.

Great Features and Good Value - Easy To Set Up

This is my first purchase of a camera security system and I bought the Defender HD1T8D4 online from BestBuy on 11/28/16 and received it within 4 days.
I too was skeptical at how good the online reviews were on the Defender website, but I must admit, I’ve been pleased so far. I tested the system in a single room prior to fishing cable through walls, floors and ceilings (a given for any brand of wired security system). Over the next few months, I will be running the cables. Physically hooking up the connections to the DVR unit was easy. One needs some degree of computer familiarity to understand the software, but by reading through the well-organized user manual and playing around with the settings, it starts to become intuitive. I feel the software is as simple as can be considering all the associated numerous options, features and settings. Their customer/technical service is supreme – submission of an online question triggers a case number email confirmation. The main reason I selected the Defender system was because of all the positive reviews of their customer/technical support and so far, this has been substantiated.
