Clear Picture!

I picked up my Defender HD on yesterday and had it installed today. Installation was easy. Connecting to the internet and my android was simple. The cameras have clear picture. I'm a satisfied customer so far. By the way this is my first security system and the positive reviews helped me select Defender.

As Expected with One Exception

I purchased my system less than a month ago and installed according to the instructions provided and with advice from my company's network vendor. The entire process went very smoothly and we are satisfied with the video quality and the DVR features.Some of the DVR operation instructions could be improved in terms of clarity and completeness but not a deal breaker. The improvement that is needed is with the mobile app and the ability of the app and/or unit to remain connected. I was able to view live and recorded video for a brief period when I first installed the app but since then I have had nothing but trouble with the connection. Again, if these two areas are improved then no doubt I would give 5 stars. PLEASE invest in development of the App as I assume this is how most owners want to use their system.

Improvement from older system

I bought only two cameras and a 4ch dvr, because I had two older cameras that were still working, now I want to replace the older cameras because of the clearer images

Great cameras for a great price,

I have been shopping around for a set of cameras and a system that minimizes the wiring and allows the user to record the footage and store it without using an outside party that will charge you for data space. I have finally found it. I can view the footage on my phone, I-Pad and computer. I am very impressed on the quality of these cameras and the system. It was very easy to install considering I have no technical experience. I only had to find a power source and no other wiring had to be installed.

Bought this 5/2617 and very pleased.Night vision way better then old camera system dont even need to leave lights on just the street lights are good enough.The only part thats hard is running the wires which was easy since i was electrician !Very nice system.

Easy set up.

We had Defender cameras up on our house for about 4 years. The hard drive was full and had a couple cameras acting up, so we decided to upgrade to the HD cameras and DVR. We purchased the 8 camera set up and got it installed. Big difference in the quality of the picture. Much better! We were able to reuse some of the original cables. I was not looking forward to rerunning new cables in the attic. We got it installed and started the guided set up. It went right through and setup on both our I phones without any issues. Way easier than I was expecting. The night video is clearer and the view is a lot wider than the original cameras we had. I recommend the wired cameras, since you have to still run the power feed to them, you might as well run the video cable. Plus I get worried someone could tap into the video feed.
