Good Picture Plug and Play

Got this for Christmas 16'. Due to weather didn't get to install fully. I did test all cameras and functions within a few days to make sure there were no returns/ exchange needed. I did install a 1080p camera at my front door outside within a few weeks, and integrated 3 indoor cameras from a old system. 2 were analog and one high def with audio (front inside of house, back inside door, and master bed). They all worked with the system perfect with no issue. The picture on the included 1080p camera both day and night is great at close distance for detail, and good at a longer distance for visibility, but not for details. You will get the general idea but will not be able to make out faces or plates even if you zoom in. The motion alert and camera settings take a little time to learn but work as they should once you get them correct. I wish there were more instructions on how to use it and the features within but I read online you can find them online or call there tech support, just haven't had the time. Installation will take some thinking and planing but a DIY type of person should not have a problem once they have a idea of how to run the wires and where they want there cameras. I have since installed a back yard camera after a little over month of of just having the 1 1080 and the 3 analog. All in all I am very happy with the system and look forward to getting all the cameras up and running and mixing them with my old analog ones. I will update this review if I feel there is something helpful I come across.

Great System

I just bought this system and learned a lot. you can not have the camera inside a window and try to view outside. Must install outside to get the best out of the system, once moved was excellent. To down load the manuals you will find some trouble as it will reference a page but no page numbers show on the printed page, lot of counting then I decided to number the pages incase i dropped them. Getting to run cameras on my cell was easy and to my computor is great, would be better if they would allow Google Crome as an operating system but Internet explorer was good. Support online is good and assistance was great.
Woud recommend this system to anyone but would recommend the 4 camera system so you can expand without having to buy 2 more cameras.

I bought this package to replace an older system that the DVR had quit working on. The picture with my old cameras hooked to it was good but once I replaced the old 800tvl cameras with these HD ones the picture was Great, Very clear. Very satisfied with me new system.

I bought this for my home a couple of weeks ago. Love the picture quality and the ability to access via smartphone. Installation was easy and it was up and running within a matter of minutes. Would definitely recommend!!

Great system

I bought the Defender HD 1080p 8ch with 8 bullet cameras about three weeks ago. Initially set it up on a table in my basement to test it (I had problems with a previous purchase from a Chinese manufacturer and wanted to make sure it worked before running all of the wires). Image resolution is excellent. Setup was easy, although having 20 years experience in electronics and 17 years in I.T. certainly helped. I did speak to their tech support before purchase to get some technical questions answered. The gentleman I spoke with was very familiar with the product and answered all my questions promptly (he is also a native English speaker based in North America, a rarity in tech support these days), so I am sure those without my expertise will be able to configure remote network access with their help. I have now installed three of the 8 cameras (weather up here in northern Illinois during February is not conducive to outside work) and the rest will be installed when it gets warm enough to do it. The cameras are working great and motion detection and recording is also working well. The system allows you to set motion detection to only specified areas so you do not record every time a tree or bush moves in the wind or a car goes by on the street. All in all, I am quite satisfied with the system and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quality camera surveillance system.

Easy setup

I bought a camera package in December and am very happy with it this far. Picture quality is nice, and setup was a breeze. I like the fact you can get email notifications when cameras detect motion, however I'm not sure if sending an email to 2 different addresses is possible, as my wife and I would both like to receive these notifications. Overall great product!

As of today, I haven't installed the cameras because I've been out of town working for several months at a time. My wife and I are excited about installing the cameras and having the system running. With all the good reviews about your product, that is why we purchased it and must say that we are happy to be part of the Defender family!! I
