Great system!

The system was easy to install and set up. I did most of it without looking at the instructions. It would be nice to have a longer camera cable option to order as a package for bigger houses but other than that I have no complaints. The 60' cables will work in most cases and did in ours by connecting to a more centrally located monitor in a 3000 sqft house.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I replaced and older Defender system with this new HD system. installing the cameras was easy, connecting the cameras to the DVR simple, and setting up the DVR to record to my schedule was easy. I must say the new cameras have a much clearer view than the old cameras. This is a great system and I am glad I stayed with Defender to keep watch over my property.

Several years ago we bought a 4 camera system. We still have that system in place. We decided we needed to look at other areas so we bought a 8 camera system. The system was easy to install and we are completely satisfied with it. We called defender USA a couple times for information. We talked to Candace, and she was extremely helpful. we are 100% satisfied. Thanks for having such a good products.

Excellent System and App

I bought the HD1T8B4 to replace a 10 year old system from another company that had been slowly degrading over the last few years. After comparing specifications and, more importantly, reviews for several systems, I decided to purchase this one. My old system used 700TVL/960H cameras so the 2MP 1080p cameras on this system were a major step up in image quality. The new cameras have higher resolution, a wider field of view, better low light capability and better night vision.
My installation was relatively easy since I already had high quality in-the-wall wiring in place and was just replacing the DVR and cameras. The only minor problem for me was that the wiring leads on the new cameras are shorter than those on the old cameras so I had to add cable extensions to a couple of locations. The new system came with 4 cameras so I initially used the 4 new cameras and 4 of my old lower resolution cameras. I liked the new ones so much that I bought another set of 4 so I could replace all of the old ones.
Setup was easier than for my old system and the web interface and Android app both worked correctly. I've been able to use Edge and Mozilla Firefox in addition to the recommended Internet Explorer browsers on my PC. In Chrome, you need to use an IE tab. One small complaint with the web interface is that it doesn't have the same motion sensitivity settings as the device menu has. I had to use the device menu to get the right sensitivity settings for each camera. The device menu is not as easy to use as the web interface; maybe the web interface will catch up to the device menu in the future.
The DVR has more playback capabilities than my old one did. One particularly useful feature is synchronized multi-camera playback. This allows you to see what was happening at multiple camera locations at the same time.
My old system gave me 7 to 8 years of good service so it is too soon to tell if this one will stand the test of time but I'm very pleased at this point.

I previously installed and maintained two older systems in my condo association. It was difficult and time consuming to enable viewing and to bring the images to a computer. Setting up a router was daunting for sure.
I purchased the Defender system for my house and assumed I would have to wade through the installation like my others...wow, I was amazed how simple everything was. I installed remote viewing on cell phones and tablets in minutes.
The camera images are beyond what I expected for the low cost. I hooked them up to an HD monitor and the detail I can see is exceptional. The email feature works great. When motion is detected on a camera, a picture is "snapped" and sent to me via email. It was easy to set up too! Night vision is very good.
One camera is problematic with night vision. No problem, Defender customer service was responsive and I will be exchanging that camera when I return home.
I strongly recommend this system.

I've had this setup for over a month and I absolutely love it. Very clear images in both day and infared. So far no issues with the DVR or cameras. The setup was straightforward and easy. I had one question regarding motion recording and I contacted Defender. Brian at Defender was a HUGE help and got me squared away within minutes. Great product Great company!

Installation was easy and straight forward. You don't have to be an engineer to set this up. Had a bit of trouble with getting the motion set up but eventually got it.
