Very Expensive

Ours was installed when our house was built in 2014. The magnetron and power supply died after about four years (service call). One of the top two halogen bulbs died at the 5.5 year mark as well as one of the wheels broke off of the turntable under the glass platter (limped along without both). The entire unit died when the unit was only seven and a half years old. It just cost us to replace the unit with a new one. We had to replace the unit with a new one because the installation cut out is unique for this model in our built-in cabinet and our wiring is for a 230 V installation. A couple other things to note, are 1) the microwave function is relatively weak – it takes 3 minutes to boil a cup of water, 2) the light in the unit has to be turned on manually while you’re cooking and only stays on about four seconds before automatically shutting off if you wish to see the food you are cooking, 3) the clock is not displayed when the unit is not running and 4) the stainless steel interior stains badly from cooking splatters and is impossible to clean. Also note, that the glass microwave platter has to be switched out with a metal platter when you want to use the oven instead of the microwave and then switched back when you are finished. That process can be rather tedious. We expected more from GE for an expensive, weak microwave and small convection oven combo that only lasted 7 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Owned the previous generation Advantium. Once it played out, waited patiently the couple months it took to get this model. This version is almost identical feature wise to the 2013 model it replaced, with updated external characteristics. Which in my opinion look way better. Unit looks sleeker and more modern. Only thing I miss from previous generation is the clock which now does not continuously display (displays for approx 5 seconds after use and then goes dark). Researching online I found the continuous clock display feature was removed for energy savings. Guess that is what a watch is for!

We owned another Advantium for 15 years and it never gave us any problems. We are only replacing it because the control board became unavailable. We live by our Advantium. It's an essential piece of equipment in our kitchen.

Turntable Shaft cracked

After having for a month sensor stop working and Microwave never stop even after it reaches the time. Technician came to fix once and again it did not fix the issue. Tech came again and finally sensor part started working. Not sure how long it will work. Already lost the confidence on this product. Now I see turntable shaft cracked. I hardly use microwave and not sure how it was cracked. Poor quality of product. I would not recommend this product due to several issues it has.

Parts missing

I see burnout stains in the oven under the glass and rotational stand and stand was not rotating, as we were not aware of the product and were not able to understand why is not rotation, now we see burnout stains underneath when checked with neighbors we came to know something missing as its need to rotate.

Microwave/oven plate sprocket

Great microwave and it is awesome with the higher voltage. Only issue, I have owned for 4 years and the gear/sprocket that rotates the glass plate has broke twice. This will be my 3rd sprocket for this microwave. Very sad for the price I paid for this microwave/oven. Purchased when I built my new house.

I love my Advantium. This is my 3rd one! My first one which was the 120 lasted 15 years so I replaced it with another one. Then 4 years later I remodeled my kitchen and replaced it with a wall oven. It cooks so much faster and I love the space it has for large dishes to turn. I can't imagine not having an Advantium oven for speed cooking. I hardly use my regular oven in my range. Everyone should have an Advantium!
