Love the Vornado TAVH10 Vortex Heater

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Vornado TAVH10 Vortex Heater is amazing! First off the design and color combination makes it attractive if it's sitting in plan view.Our current electric heater, an oil filled radiator we move around stands out like a sore thumb (although I love warming towels and/or clothing on it!) This is lightweight and portable with a built in handle making it easy to use in any room. The TAVH10 Vortex Heaters design helps to keep it from being knocked over. There is a pressure activated safety button on the bottom that shuts it off as soon as it's tilted too far. I forgot about this and picked it up slightly to move it on the carpet and the shut off was immediate. Of course I had to try it a few more times to be sure ;) and as soon as the button is released even slightly the shut is immediate. The cord is just over 3 ft long and stored around the base allowing you to keep the excess wrapped to avoid tripping. An important thing I also noticed is the cord/plug does not get warm when using it like the radiator does. Basically the heater stays cool to the touch. However the front does get a bit warm but I could lay my hand flat on it and not get burned, another great safety feature if you have curious pets or small children. Runs quietly and can be programmed to shut off in 1-12 hrs with the timer. The temperature I chose was achieved surprisingly fast considering it's an old house and not well insulated, it's always colder inside than out. The digital touch controls are bright and large enough to see easily. The TAVH10 Vortex Heater comes with a remote with simple functions. My only issue is the range is short and the buttons tend to get stuck if pushed at angle instead of straight down (maybe it's just something I do tho). I received the TAVH10 Vortex Heater free to try and review and I can honestly say it has exceeded my expectations and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a great little heater. You won't be disappointed!

Prefect heater for any space

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Living in the Midwest, the winter's can be very harsh. As a homeowner for the last two decades, it's important to have a quality space heater for the various rooms in and around the house that don't eat away at our budget. After the using the Vornado TAVH10 for several nights with below freezing temperatures outside, this little heater is by far the best one that I've used. At first glance, the TAVH10 is very stylish. The touchscreen controls are easy to use and the digital readouts are easy on the eyes. The first evening of use I had it in the sunroom, which has several windows and the insulation is not as thick as the rest of the house. It didn't take long for the TAVH10 to warm the room to the desired temperature and keep it that way all night. Another plus is that whisper quiet, you never know when it's running or not. The next night I tried the TAVH10 in our bedroom, which is much larger than the sunroom with a 12-foot ceiling. Once again, it didn't take long to get our bedroom to a comfortable temp. The remote is also a handy feature, so you can keep it on your nightstand without having to get out of bed to change the controls. While the TAVH10 is lightweight, compact and portable, if there problem I have encountered -- albeit small -- it's not the easiest to wrap the electric cord inside the bottom of the base for storage. Since the top of the heater isn't flat, you have to rest it on something soft like on the bed or on your lap. Then you have to balance the heater in one hand while wrapping the cord with the other. All in all, the pros definitely outweigh the one small con, and this is the best heater I've ever used. This winter I'll be plenty warm while leaving plenty of green in my pocket.

not much heat

The first one brought, had a smell and kept blowing the breaker. so call and a replace ment sent. No smell, does not blow breaker yet but it has same heat on high as low. Only thing changes is fan speed. maybe the way they are support to be but all other 1500w heaters had sure put pout more heat. I don't see how it can be a whole room heater. LOL don't know if need to call or its just a low heat unit

High quality, effective whole room heater!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Let's start with the basics: The Vornado TAVH10is a compact, adjustable, air circulating whole room heater with remote control and touch sensitive LED display control panel located on the top. The operating instructions are easy to understand. The My highly positive opinion of the Vornado TAVH10 started to form as I removed the heater from its box. Printed on the inner box flap is the message: "we expect this product to be PERFECT - if it's not WE will make it right." I appreciate companies which stand behind their products and value quality and customer satisfaction. The heater has a 5 year SATISFACTION Guarantee! I placed the heater in the living room (800 sq. ft.) and set the temperature to 76 degrees, which it achieved within 15 minutes and maintained without a hitch. I did not need to increase the television volume to compete with operating noises. I really like the fact that the heater circulates the air; yet, there was no noticeable 'air drafts' which could blow/move dust and papers around. The outside of the heater remained cool to the touch during operation, so I had no concern about my dogs burning themselves if they came into accidental contact with it. The heater sits very stable on the floor with zero tipping over tendency, even when bumped. The safety mechanism (located on the heater's underside) is a pressure-activated switch which is depressed when the heater is set down on the floor. Lifting the heater immediately activates the auto-off safety feature. The Vornado is by far superior to any ceramic, element or oil heater I have owned. My only criticism is that the control panel is very sensitive and there is no panel lock. I highly recommend the Vornado and would not hesitate to buy a second one!

So quiet and quick to heat

I have several of the Vornado products, including 2 of these. You need to read the instructions to understand pushing Power to get into the various modes. The remote, as many say, is near field, and I dont even know where they are. I also recommend their yellow/black floor fans. I have 3 of those. They circulate an amazing amount of air and not only good in the shop, but for drying out carpet after shampooing . ALSO I think they should add under "where did you purchase" a "both", as I have done for several of their products

This heater was great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This heater was great. We have a split level house that has three levels. In the winter, the cold air comes up to the living room/kitchen area from the family room on the first level. We usually hang a blanket in the stairwell to block the cold air. We just tried the heater out in the living room the last few days and it heats the room wonderfully, so now we don't have to hang an ugly blanket in the stairwell!
