I have radiant heated floors that are great at keeping the rooms at a steady temperature, but if I feel a bit chilly and turn the thermostat in a room up, the whole room stays hotter for longer than I need. So I decided to get space heaters to use near me wherever I sometimes need a bit of extra warmth. This Vornado is quiet and works well for my purposes. I mainly use it in a very large living room with 20 foot ceilings, so it never actually increases the overall temperature in the room, but it serves its purpose of warming me up when I have near where I sit. I also purchased another brand and between the 2 I prefer this Vornado because the noise it makes is a soft sort of white noise and the other brand has a higher frequency humming that's annoying.

Perfect little heater!

I have used this heater non-stop in my bedroom all winter while setting my heatpump just at a minimum temperature of 60 degrees. It stayed on all winter without turning off except when I went out of town. I found if I turned it off at night it was difficult to heat up the room the next evening. So my solution was to turn it to about 65 then turn it up later. It does take a while to heat up a large room, but does a great job once warm. The fan only option is kind of lame, but I have a Vornado fan so that's not an issue for me. However, I do take this with me when I do trade shows where it's either cold or hot and this does the trick!

We love our Vornado!

Heat pumps only work when the temperature is above around 43 degrees. Seeing as how we don't live in the Deep South, our house is cold with a heat pump. For about half what our neighbors pay per month we can heat our smaller home (1200+ sq ft), and it feels warm and cozy.

I bought this 3 weeks ago after using one in an AB&B house in Lake Tahoe over Thanksgiving.
I love that it shows the room’s current temperature and that I can set it to what ever temperature I want. I have used it in an 18’X10’ room and in a larger room of 12’X24’ with high ceilings and within15 minutes from 50* it was 65. I love that it circulates all the air doesn’t just push air out. It sure made a difference and I have an electric heavy duty room heater up there that I had to turn way down.

Outstanding Heater (with only one minor issue)

I purchased this heater last year to take the edge off my bedroom at night. I’m a light sleeper so I was looking for something super quiet, possibly remote controlled, and with an accurate climate control (the Vornado TAVH10 checked all the boxes).
I procrastinated on spending the money for this unit while shopping and comparing other available options. What sold me was seeing one in use at my veterinarian’s waiting room. I was VERY impressed with how quiet it was and how nicely is seemed to be working out in that application. I asked the staff about it who said the waiting area was always a little cold by the big picture window and it really made a difference. The liked that it had the remote so they could control it from the receptionist area and the timer feature was helpful to ensure nobody forgot to turn it off at the end of the day. I was sold!
It is a great heater! The electronic climate control is probably the best part. It reads the room temp and has a sophisticated way to adjust to achieve your set temperature (much better than the manual type). It will operate on high to get to desired temp, then ramps down to a whisper on low to maintain the temperature. You can select continuous low temp if you’d like, but even if high is selected, it will automatically turn down (or pause) when the desired temp is achieved. The remote is very handy, as is the timer and safety features.
The ONLY reason for four stars is the unit has a tinge of a plastic smell about it. Although I much prefer steel encased heaters, I have had plastic contained units made by other leading brands that never smelled. At first I thought it was just because it was new and you could smell the fresh plastic or circuitry, but I’m on my second season and it still smells. I don’t recall the one at the vet smelling, and my friend has a VH200 that does not smell either. If it wasn’t for that... I’d give it 5 stars all the way!
