Horribly designed carafe

I recently purchased the spacemaker scm2000bd. The thermal carafe is a horribly designed part. First off it is a pain to pour and if you are lucky enough to get the last bit out just set it down and watch coffee miraculously reapear from within. It seems to leak into the cavity between the upper black plastic ring and the stainless (nasty health hazard). But it doesn`t stop there while pouring into your cup it leaks out all over your counter from the same space on the outside of the carafe, the union of plastic to stainless. Makes a great pot of coffee though

Hate the carafe!!

We bought this coffee maker to go with the SpaceMaker toaster oven. The oven is great but the coffee maker is such a disappointment. When you pour the coffee it literally leaks through the seams along the top of the carafe. You also have to be careful when you wash it because the dish water goes into the seams. The carafe does not keep the coffee hot so you have maybe 1 hour of hot coffee- if family members go to work at different times the last to leave gets cold coffee. This is going back-
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

BRING THE SPACEMAKER COFFEE MAKER BACK, PLEASE!

My spacemaker can opener came with the house I purchased. It is about 20 years old, and works like a new product. So impressed I was with the durability and its space-saver quality, I purchased 2 other space-makers: the B&D toaster oven and the food processor. If you are looking for extra space on your counter these are the products you need. I have been trying to purchase the B&D SpaceMaker coffee maker (Under-the-Cabinet 8 Cup Programmable), and I have been unable to locate one. Why would B&D stop making such a one-of-a-kind innovative piece of technology? Can anyone help me find the SDC850 SpaceMaker 8-Cup Coffeemaker, or the earlier model SDC740 (12-CUP model)?

Three things that make it harder to use.
1. The shape of urn or handle location makes it harder to pour. Have to lean over farther to get coffee to come out and then way over to get completely empty.
2. The plastic on plastic sliding together to either pull the urn out or to put urn back is hard to slide. Recommend maybe some Teflon coating.
3. The shut off of coffee coming out of urn is not 100%. Even if do not push button to open and tilt urn over, coffee will still come out some.

I do like the style, space it takes up, programing feature, and water reservoir.

Easy to brew a few cups of Coffee.

Makes a great cup of Coffee. Was wondering why you had to unplug it every time you are finished brewing, didn't make sense to me because you have to reprogram it every time. I wold like to know the specifics.

After owning an old SpaceMaker in the past, I've always wanted another one since my other one went belly-up. When I looked at this one, I was excited to say the least. It brews a great cup of coffee, and I like the way it looks under the counter. My only gripe is that the SpaceMaker separates from its base when I pull the coffee pot out to pour a cup. The only thing that prevents the SpaceMaker from falling out from its base, is the electric cord that is plug into the wall.
