This product does not have a rechargable battery

The specification write up for this product indicates that it has a Lithium ion battery. The one that I purchased does not; it uses four AA batteries which last about 2 days. The bad part is when I plug in the power chord - it does not work at all when I do that; it turns off completely and disconnects. Maybe I got the bad one in the bunch but it started doing that about a year after I bought it. I wouldn't recommend to a friend.
Pros: easy to use, looks nice, good sound
Cons: doesn't work as advertised, no lithium ion battery built in, when using the power chord the unit turns off

Great Sounding...

I really like this speaker. It stays in my tool box at work, loud enough I get complaints on it being up too loud. But as I figured, the battery is its weakest link. I hardly ever use it on battery, once in a while to discharge it and recharge it. I've had this speaker for just 10 months and the battery life is getting poor. It went from being able to play for 9 hrs + at medium volume to barely able to stay playing for 3hrs at low to medium volume. A 10 minute research on the internet for a replacement battery ended with no results.
Pros: sounds great, low profile fits in my tool cart very nicely
Cons: be lucky if the battery in it survives a year., no available replacement parts
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great Sound!! ...weak power cord design.

I have had mine for 2 years. Love the sound it produces, played with my MP3 Player.1st year, the power cord began to separate, on the end that plugs into speaker; black electrical tape extended the use for another year. I get about 9-10 hours of use... still to this day.
Pros: great sound, execllent run time
Cons: weak power cord design
