Easy to use

This was so easy to set up and also easy to use. I live that I can make my home warmer or cooler before I get home using the app.

New Impressive Thermostat

I recently installed the Nest 3rd generation thermostat with my new furnace and air conditioning unit. We are in the heating season and so far this thermostat has performed flawlessly. After a few days it had learned our schedules and put our home in the "ECO" mode to save energy. I monitored it`s functions from my phone and was able to do this easily. We had one day when our internet service was down and I was unable to access the thermostat remotely. Upon arriving at home at our usual time the Nest thermostat had adjusted the temperature from past experience. We no longer have to turn the thermostat up or down and combined with the new HVAC equipment the overall comfort of the home has improved. We have lowered the heating temperature by two degrees and the house is still quite comfortable. Everything from installation, setup to our WIFI , and initial usage has been very easy to do and learn. We did have the HVAC contractor do the installation and I would recommend that to most people unless you have experience in this field. I give my son the mechanical engineer full credit for recommending this product as he installed one in his own home as well.

Smart Nest

My wife and I have had the Nest thermostat for several weeks now. We had a few friends who had one and they spoke highly of how much they liked it. I loved the look of the Nest in their home and so we got one not really knowing what all to expect. We installed it ourselves and it was easier than I thought it might be. Normally the Nest temperature is not showing unless someone approaches it. It has a wide motion sensor and turns on from quite a distance to show you the temperature. The background color is either black, meaning you are at your desired temperature, or it is blue or orange meaning either the AC or heat is currently on. If you have changed the temp and it is currently on its way to that temp, it shows you when you approach it the temp you are headed to and the temp you are at now and how long it will take you to get to your set temp. The biggest surprise was how "fast" it learns what temperatures you like and when you like them. If you consistently change your temperatures throughout the day or at night or early morning, it learns that fast and will do it for you automatically which is nice. My wife likes to use her tablet to change the temperature settings from bed at night just before we go to bed but most of the time it is already set to what she likes. It has a super convenient vacation mode where you have a maximum setting you want your AC or furnace to go to when you are not home and that is called the Eco mode which you just put in on Eco and you will get a lot more energy efficiency while you are on your vacation or trip. We are going on vacation next week and of course, I will have it on Eco mode and I look forward to setting it to our desired temperature from my phone app about 100 miles from when we get home. How cool is that! If you push the Nest it will show you the outside temperature which is also nice and convenient. I think for most people it is safe to say that once you have owned a Nest thermostat, you will NEVER "not own" a Nest thermostat. The cost is a bargain in terms of all the things it does for you and it is a thermostat that you will enjoy telling your family and friends about. Happy thermostating! :-)

Best thermostat I've used

I love the product. Does everything is days it does. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is because it can be difficult to figure out the current temp, and if you don't have power wired to the thermostat you will need to recharge it by taking it off the wall and plugging it in, and it can take a while to adequately recharge. This can be very inconvenient depending on when the battery dies, and there is no advanced warning for it.

Nest Learning Thermostat

I am a builder and real estate in investor and I have at least one of these in each of my properties. These folks hit it out of the park with their forward thinking to an old way of controlling temps in a space! VERY easy to use, clean and modern look, and I love the remote wifi capabilities - let's me check temp and humidity in each of my properties...remotely on my phone.

The Nest is a great device. We needed to call in one time during the installation process, which we did ourselves, and they were extremely helpful and knew right away how to help us.
We really like the fact that the Nest has learned our habits for the winter and that it automatically adjusts and we will teach it our summer habits when the time comes. There were many times before when we would go to bed and forget to adjust the temperature, now we don't have to, the Nest will do it for us.

Love it!

Got one for Christmas and it learned our routine quickly! I love the easy to use app and the interface on the thermostat. My favorite feature by far is it shows the weather outside when you walk by! It’s been nice in the morning when getting ready for the day.
