Nest Thermostat

Great product. We replace the old basic thermostats and had the new ones in and running in less than 30 minutes. Very easy instructions and the app is great. We would recommend Nest and looking forward to adding the smoke detector.

Interface is less intuitive

I’ve owned Nest smart thermostats since before Google bought the company. I have to say the interface and connection to app has gotten way more complicated and buggy. Also the quality of the product has gone down. I had to return two units. The first just starting failing and not connecting to WiFi. The replacement had a indentation on the front surface towards the bottom black area and it’s battery would not hold a charge. Overall is a great system but just wish they wouldn’t mess around so much with the build quality and software.

Battery drain and Wi-Fi connectivity issues are most likely related to power issues. Your Nest Learning Thermostat gets its power from your HVAC system’s wiring. There are cases where these wires can't deliver enough power to support the Nest thermostat's features, as a result, they start draining the batteries and disconnect from your Wifi network. In such cases, installing a common(C) wire between your HVAC and Nest thermostats can resolve the battery drain problem. We recommend contacting a Nest Pro Technician to help check on your HVAC system and install a common (C) wire if needed.

A snazzy addition to a smart home!

The Nest works exactly as advertised (we have two installed). I've only used it for ~2 months thus far during the heating season but its been very simple to control, especially doing remote control with the app. Its very handy to have energy stats on a day to day basis as well as the ability to turn down the heat if you plan on being out for an extended period of time (and turning it back on before you get back). We also have it hooked in to our Google Home but we don't use that feature too much (lest the kids learn how to yell at the thermostat).

love the NEST product

I got the vivint smart home security system and the NEST came with it. So happy with all the features i've learned so far. I love being able to control the temperature in my house from my phone, if i'm too lazy to get up and change the thermostat, or if i'm out of the house to have it on eco or a higher temp so my electric bill won't go crazy. It works great and the system looks great too.

My Nest

Ever since I got my Nest thermostat I have been very happy except when it went out and for a couple of day they couldn’t tell me what exactly was the issue so we were with out heat for a couple of days but we finally got a person from Nest that knew what to do and he was very helpful. We were very thankful for Nest support for having people like him.

Works great but needed tech support

The Nest thermostat is working great and I am please that I purchased it. My furnace is a heat pump so I had to call tech support to get the correct wiring configuration to make it work. Also ther is not a menu on the Nest to select heat electric for type of power for your furnace or a selection for heat pump[. I feel this should be included in the instructions.
