I am impressed with the quality of the product and the customer service. Setup was easy and is a beautiful product. Now I hope it saves me some money on energy but we will see.

Short cycling never works consistently

Worse thermostat I’ve ever purchased. I bought it for the sleek design and more advanced features in a thermostat to only be disappointed. My old thermostat worked great and now I’m dealing with the nest thermostat never working consistently and short cycling all the time. I’m returning it!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

In most cases, Nest thermostats can charge their built-in battery using your system’s heating and cooling wires. But in a small number of situations, you may need to connect a common (C) wire to deliver enough consistent power to your thermostat, and prevent odd heating and cooling behaviors on your system such as short cycling or making strange noises.

Exceeded expectations

The of the few items I own where I can say I am 100% happy with in every attribute (price, value, happiness). The Nest is amazing and far exceeded my already high expectations. This is our future.

I had to switch my thermostat out as my old one didn't function properly anymore. Nest was recommended to me so I reviewed and purchased. Sure glad I did. Installation and set up was easy. Loving it so far. Live that it works with my Alexa Echo

Too glitchy

Intermittent “E74” that magically fix themselves. No plausible explanation. Doesn’t seem to stay charged. Other smart thermostats I’ve used were way more stable.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The possible cause for an E74 is that your system may not provide enough power or any power to either the thermostat or a specific wire.
