Very good product

It is a wonderful thermostat, but my only problem was the way they label the spot for the wires on the back plate. Wires werewereabeled different from the existing thermostat, and have the heat pump A/C unit, made my life a bit tough on installation. But besides that, I'm very very happy with the product.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good purchase

Happy with performance. Seems to follow schedule. Eco worked nicely during our vacation. Was able to control temperature before arriving home from airport. Not so easy to install if you don’t have 5 wire connection. Had my AC guy over to change wiring. I’m hoping to see a slight reduction in my electric bill this coming month.

Constant power and connectivity issues

I only had my thermostat for roughly 2 months before the issues started. They don't mention this in the installation guide, but if you don't have a "neutral" wire, your Nest thermostat will ultimately have Wi-Fi connectivity issues then eventually die completely. Without the neutral wire the Nest is not able to properly recharge even though there is a power wire connected. So it thinks it has low voltage/low power and will not connect to Wi-Fi if it has a low battery. Not to mention it will just randomly drop Wi-Fi connection for no reason. In the end, you'll find yourself pulling it off the wall to charge it with a micro USB on a daily basis until you have to make the decision to call customer support, or just throw it away.FYI, if you order a warranty replacement unit, be prepared for the wrong color, surface scuffs, poor bezel spin... just stick with that old yellowing thermostat that was in the house when you moved in. Not worth the trouble.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love it!

My previous programmable thermostat had such tiny fonts I was unable to read it. This one is big, bright and bold. It was simple to install (for my tech) and it 'got me' within 3 days.
My only complaint is that it still has not been able to sync with my phone. The only option for devices is a Nest camera - which I do not have. Other than that - I do love it!

I own three Nest thermostats. They work great. They are easy to use, the Android application is well d signed. Unlike many new technological products, I feel that Nest products are built to last.

Good product

I’m not anywhere close to a electrician and I installed this in less then 45 minutes no problems at all. I did encounter a problem a month after use but it was just a bad WiFi chip in the unit and they confirmed that’s what it was and a new one was at my door 2 days later. I’m looking forward to using it while on vacation to see how much the “leaf” saves me.
