Dislike this device . It’s been replaced 3 times . It’s garbage!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nest Learning Thermostat relies on the power it gets from the wires of your heating and cooling system. And sometimes, the issue may be related to an unstable voltage supply coming from your system. If you haven't tried it yet, and if you´re willing, we suggest contacting a Nest Pro technician to check on both your Nest Learning Thermostat and HVAC system. They should be able to assess the issue and provide you with the best options to improve your experience.

I have installed and used all versions of the Nest since it was introduced. This is the best version so far. From installation to setup to using it.

Great Hardware, but the app is lacking

Love the product and it is definitely easier to use than a normal thermostat. I love you can have a range for when it will heat or cool down the house rather than only heat or cold. I wish scheduling heating and cooling, it was a bit easier to set up in the app.

Excellent Thermostat for any home.

Really like this thermostat. Very handy to have access to your thermostat from anywhere at all times. Wife loves it because she doesn't have to get out of bed to turn the air temperature up or down.

Despite Nest's official support saying this unit will not work with old 'milli-volt' heater systems, this is NOT true. By supplying the unit with a separate, outboard 24 VAC power supply, it IS possible to integrate the Nest t-stat with these older systems. I would suspect that there are many many users (San Francisco) who live in older homes with ancient heating systems who would like to use Nest
