Functional and aesthetic

I don't use one of the main selling points -- the learning/auto-scheduling functionality - at all. Manual control is still the way for me. The device looks great, functions well, and I like the detailed information (humidity, outdoor weather, history/runtimes) a lot. I really wish there was an option to have the display ALWAYS ON, showing the time, rather than only on approach (Farsight). I always want to glance across the room or down the hallway to see the time, but instead have to walk a distance toward the thermostats in order to activate the display.

Our life is so comfortable now not having to go to the hall to adjust thermostat. At night I turn it down while in bed and morning turn it up while in bed. No more getting up in the cold to adjust thermostat. I can control it away from home. Easy and fun and convenient!!! A+++

So easy to install and use

The nest thermostat is so easy to install...they walk you through every step. It is simple to use...the app works great, and I have been extremely happy with the way it operates. The only thing I am not happy with is the color. When I purchased it, the only color it came in was black. It sticks out like a sore thumb on my wall, and I don't like it. If it was maybe brushed nickel, white, or something, it would be a lot less obvious. Perhaps they could sell different color face plates so that you could change it easily and cheaply, without replacing the entire unit.

Beautiful and my wife can use it

That doesn't mean my wife is not capable of learning things, but seems to resist electronics for whatever reason. The basic function of the thermostat works just like any other, twist to change the setting. The only things I would change, the backplate that is included could match the rest of the design better, but it is nice that one is included, also the away mode could be better.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Ease of install is excellent. It learned when go up or down quickly and I can turn it down when the teenage daughter thinks it is too cold in the house:)
