Broken in 16 months

Don't ever switch to this product. The "learning" is obnoxious and makes it almost impossible to set a schedule and mine failed around 16 months with no way to get it replaced.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Nest Learning Thermostat uses the Auto-Schedule feature, wherein it learns from the temperature changes you make on the thermostat over time and then creates its own schedules. You can turn off this feature to control the thermostat schedules all by yourself. Here's how you can turn it off:
With the Nest app:
- Open the Nest app and select your Nest thermostat.
- Select Settings and then Auto-Schedule.
- Tap the switch to turn it off.
On your thermostat:
- Press the ring and choose Settings and then Nest Sense and then Auto-Schedule and then Off.
We also recommend clearing the existing schedules by selecting Settings, then Reset, then Schedule and Reset again. We'd be happy to take a look at the issues, and help you the best way possible. Feel free to contact our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

I've owned the product for about a month and I'm thoroughly impressed. I'm already saving money on my electric bill and being able to monitor my thermostat remotely is a plus. Overall, this was a great investment.

We live in Arizona, where air conditioning and believe it or not heating in the winter is a large monthly cost.
The Nest will greatly assist in monitoring the costs of energy year round. Looking forward to the benefits the Nest will provide.
