The system is not as smart as you'd expect. For example, you'll have to ask Google assistant to display the front door to be able to see who's out there. The system needs to be motion triggered and automatically display who's at the door. Thieves don't usually ring the bell and have the camera start. The smaller hub version is very limited in functionality and should be like any tablet instead with wide variety of functions.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I'm not the most skilled handyman but when I scanned the QC on the back of the Nest Learning Thermostat the step by step instructions were fantastic! The app even customizes the instructions in regards to what wires you have and where they should go on the new base.
The Nest app makes is so easy to control the device from anywhere and we are looking forward to trying the energy saving options.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I just got the Google nest because the installation was very easy and I used the video that took me step by step and so far, I am happy with what I have.

I was hesitant to buy this at the time because of the price but after purchasing this device have fallen in love with it. The ease of use, the customer service options, the instructional offerings and everything this device does is well worth the price and is saving us money.
