Had to return it

Make sure your system is comparable with unit. My heating unit isn’t that old and installing this created havoc. Had to get an hvac guy at my house who said this a common occurrence Battery life was terrible too
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

It really is that cool!!

Been looking at buying a Nest Thermostat since they came out but just didn’t think it was worth the $$. Well, I was gifted a new Nest Thermostat and installed it ASAP. Let me tell you, it is SOO COOL!!! It is a quality product that is jam packed with the latest technology! I am amazed! Love it!

The Nest was very easy to setup in my home. It's easy to work and the color coded display let's me know when my furnace or air is running at a quick glance. Away Assist does occasionally turn Eco mode back off when I turn it off if I'm not far enough away from the house though.

My kids can use it

First, it matches with my interior without industrial feeling. Especially white trim matches with my beige/white molding. It blends in my home.
Second, very easy to use. I’m not a geek/tech person and it was much easier than my old fashioned thermostat where I had to adjust the pin to change the temperature. And even my elementary kids can use it.
Third, very easy to read temperature.

I love having my integrated with other products so buying a Nest product was a no brainer. I also bought the Nest Secure kit to accompany made the whole experience even better!
