User interface is excellent. Very easy to use. I wish there was more documentation from Nest covering more advanced installs for those of us that may not be HVAC pros but that are very capable do-it-yourselfers... That being said, it was well worth figuring the install stuff out. So far we love this thing! Super capable and easy to use!

Be careful

I have an 80's heat pump with an oil backup. I finally figured out a workaround the lack of a c wire by using a transformer. The bigger problem was trying to wire the former emergency heat to become the auxiliary heat which we finally figured out.So if you have an older system and are confused by the above I would suggest hiring someone to check the compatibility of your system before buying.Nonetheless after we installed it works wonderfully and actually keeps the home more evenly heated.

Love this thermostat!

I absolutely love my Nest thermostat. It makes it so convenient to turn my air conditioning on 30 minutes before I get home so that it's cool when I get there. When I forget to turn off the heat or A/C, I can turn it off remotely. I love the scheduling. The heat goes on before I get out of bed in the morning. It's an amazing and convenient device! Highly recommended!

Nice technology

After 22 months, my Nest gen 3 stopped working because the battery was not being charged. Support said that I needed to install a COM wire. That fixed the problem. However, I think that should have been in the original instructions, rather than waiting for the device to fail.

Have purchased Nest Thermostat's for my primary residence and a vacation home. Product performs exceptionally well controlling temperature. I especially like the Energy Rush Hour saving program supported by nest and my local utility. Attractive, easy to use, money saving addition to my homes.

Game changer

The Nest learning thermostat has greatly reduced our usage of the unit throughout the day. Living in Florida means that it’s hot and humid all the time. The Nest has become a great ally in keeping the house cool and comfortable while keeping the electric bill at a great level. It actually pays for itself in 2-3 billing cycles! Add the sensors and it’s even better!

Great little gadget

I didn't know anything about thermostats before looking into the nest. Mine began to malfunction, so I decided it was time for replacement. The People at nest made it super simple and intuitive for me to replace and install my thermostat. The features in the nest are also simple and intuitive. I Had no issue setting it up, downloading the app, and setting up my nest the way I wanted!
