Love it!

Have had it for a several months now and love it. I can access from upstairs and downstairs due to my Google minies. Having the remote access is great as well. Was an easy install too. Didn’t pay much because Verizon gave me a 200.00 credit when I switched to Fios from Comcast. Great opportunity to get an item I’ve been wanting ever since I heard about The Nest.

More than expected!

I have had this thermostat since January wasn’t sure what to expect since I replaced a older 7 day programmable thermostat I was a bit skeptical. It is and has learned our house pattern based on when we are home or not as well as the what’s going on with the weather outside. My last month bill was lower than last month and last year. So far I am glad I made the purchase of the Nest thermostat.

I initially got this because I love new technology and I wanted to be able to turn down my heat while away from home in the event I forgot to. Now that I have it, it impresses me more and more. I love that it lights up as I approach it. I like that I can ask Alexa to tell me the temperature or change it without having to get up. I also noticed that I'm going through way less oil than I was before. I have it set on a schedule based on my lifestyle so I don't touch it much at all. I would recommend the Nest to anyone wanting to save money and make their home smarter.

nice but...

this is the 3rd generation Nest. Internal battery is not a smart idea. This is the 3rd one I have had and the internal battery keeps losing power...and NEST support blames my HVAC system when nothing has changed!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thanks for letting us know of the battery drain issue with your Nest Learning Thermostat. We’re sorry that your experience with our support team didn’t go well. This is certainly not the kind of experience we'd want you to have.
We recommend to completely disconnect your Nest thermostat from the Wi-Fi network and try to use it manually for the next 24 hours. If the Nest thermostat works fine without experiencing a battery drain while it is disconnected, then the battery drain is most likely caused by your Wi-Fi network. If the issue continues to occur, then your HVAC system wires are probably not delivering enough power, and both your Nest Learning Thermostat may need a common (C) wire to get sufficient power to stay charged up.
Nest Learning Thermostat does come with a 2-year limited manufacturer warranty from the original purchase date. Even though you have already contacted our support team, we're hoping you will give us another opportunity to help you with the issue to improve your experience. I purchased the Google Nest Learning Thermostat, very please with the functions of it. My next step is to hook up the Google Nest Mini to enable voice command and listen to music.
