My new NEST! Easy peezy

Opened box and removed items and laid out to get familiar with them.
Turned off furnace and A/C while reading directions
Removed old thermostat (15 years old)
Connected wires (Y2 worked for cooling instead of Y1)
Screwed plate to wall (be careful, don't screw too tight as plastic is tender.
Connected NEST to plate
Turned on heat and cool
Connected to WIFI
Viola! All working from app
Turned off furnace and A/C while reading directions

You set it up ( very east to do that ) and it save you money. You never have to do anything else. One heck of a great invention.

New to Nest Thermostats

We just moved into a new house and have 2 heat pumps with Nest Thermostats. When in heat mode, one of them kept heating even though the house was already at the set temperature and was often operating when not expected. We've only had the heat mode intermittently on for the last week or so, but it seems like in heat mode, it is jumping in and heating when it is not necessary. Our only option has been to turn it to OFF mode. Maybe we need a "dumb", not learning heat mode option that just follows the set thermostat temperature.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Resetting may be helpful with the temperature issue. Keep in mind that resetting Nest Learning Thermostat will erase all data and that you may need to set it up again. To reset, go to Settings Nest > and then Reset > then choose All Settings.

The last aparment I rented had a Nest Learning Thermomstat, and I got so attached to the ease and convenience of it that it was my second home improvement purchase. (The first was the Nest x Yale lock.. also a great product). Installation was a breeze, and I was up and running in under 30 minutes.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good product that is convenient and helps with energy saving. High tech look. App is great. Connectivity of app is sometimes sketchy though.

Finally Got it!

Have been eyeing one of these for a couple years. Working on getting our house energy efficient and tech savy. Added all led lighting,solar,along with ring surveillance,and nest was the final peice. Still to soon to see how it saves energy and money. Only have had it for about a week. So far no complaints. It's already learning our schedule and the app helps me to track what it's doing.Love it!

It took me a few hours to install and set up the Google Nest to run with home WIFI.
