A must have for the tech savvy homeowner

Just bought two Nest learning thermostats to replace 15 year old Honeywell programmable t-stats. I was amazed at how easy they were to install. I had both units installed and operational in under 30 total minutes. A great product, easy instructions, and great technology.

So happy I called about the PGE/Nest Program

PGE & Nest worked together on a program that allowed us to get the thermostat incl free install. We had to agree to allow PGE to change our temp settings during "peak use" periods at least 3 times per season. I figured we'd be ok doing it just 3 times. Turned out the Nest thermostat got to know us so well that it reduced our use quite a bit without us even realizing it. Very happy!!

Negative one star. Never mention it anywhere the issues with the C wire. Constantly having to recharge battery. Should have been noted. Hate the product. Does not work as promised. Returning as soon as I have replaced.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We can imagine how frustrating it can be having to constantly recharge the battery and we understand your decision to return it. Though Nest thermostats would generally work without a common (C) wire, there are some systems that would require a C wire on the new Nest thermostat like a heat only or cool only systems. Love the app for Nest. We replaced our old thermostat for energy saving reasons. So easy to use. It's more expensive than I wanted to pay but the app on honeywell's thermastat had horrible reviews. This was definitely worth the money. Love I can use it from my phone even in bed when it gets humid. Would highly recommend.

Thermostat of My Dreams

I researched this thermostat for a year or so before I purchased it. My previous exposure to smart thermostats was actually limited to wifi connected stats. I love everything about my Nest Gen 3. Not only can I control it from anywhere, but it learned my preferences and created a schedule for me. It can also adjust the temp based on if the sun is cooking your house.
I would recommend this to a friend!
